Risk Management in the Ex-Ante Phase of Construction Investment Projects
Kalisa, Eric ; Schneiderová Heralová, Renáta (referee) ; Hromádka, Vít (referee) ; Janovská, Barbora (referee) ; Korytárová, Jana (advisor)
Cílem této práce je vytvořit specifický registr rizik a vyhodnotit kvalitativní a citlivostní analýzu rizik posuzovaných v ex-ante fázi investičních projektů výstavby.
Risk Assessment of Textile Waste Management
Šindlerová, Vanesa ; Vymazal, Tomáš (referee) ; Hrabová, Kristýna (advisor)
This thesis deals with environmental risks arising from textile waste management. The introduction describes the context of textile problematics and maps the current situation of textile waste management. The main goal of this thesis is to determinate the environmental risks of low percentage of recycling. Recycling is one way of dealing with textile that mitigates the impact on the environment. For the evaluation of the causes and consequences of the researched problem are used Bow-tie analysis and Ishikawa’s diagram. The results of the work bring environmental risks resulting from the application of those selected methods. Part of the thesis is a questionnaire that evaluates the individual’s attitude to textiles. Results of the questionnaire reveals that not needed textiles are perceived as risk to the environment. At the same time, consumer behavior does not correspond with efforts to mitigate the identified impacts.
Potential risks of nano-particle materials utilization
Flimelová, Miroslava ; Šmejkalová, Daniela (referee) ; Kučerík, Jiří (advisor)
The thesis „Potential risks of nano-particle materials utilization“ summarizes scientific knowledge on nanotechnology, nano-particle and nano-chemistry. The aim of the work is the literature overview on potential problems associated with their utilization. Thesis is focused particularly on nanoparticles exploitation and limits connected with their understanding and prediction of their fate in the environment. The impact of nanotechnology on the society and every-day life is discussed with respect to various risk sources.
Externalities in Transportation Industry, their solution possibilities and related risks
Magaudo, Salvatore ; Skřehot, Petr Adolf (referee) ; Martincová, Jana Victoria (advisor)
The target of the diploma thesis is to explain the concept of externality in transport and evaluate the current state of the traffic situation in the city of Brno with a focus on the location Tomkovo square, where is in progress the construction of another part of a large city ring road. Externalities will be evaluated in the locality with emphasis on the negative ones and their solutions. Based on theoretical knowledge, the results of the evaluation of the questionnaire survey, a case study will be created with the current facts of the consequences of transport and will support changes and opportunities to improve the quality of life in the locality. The results will be presented in public administration.

Environmentální rizika v důsledku dlouhodobého sucha
Křížová, Markéta
The thesis talks about the environmental risks as the outcome of long-term drought. In the first parts of the thesis drought is examined as a phenomena, it talks about the importance of thorough knowledge of this phenomena paying attention also to the reasons for its occurrence and describing the different types of drought. The thesis further tries to describe the impact of drought on the environment and the landscape, and monitor changes that happen there. The work also deals with strategic documents as regulation tools which should help mitigate the negative impact drought has on the environment or prevent them completely. These documents are analysed and their usefulness and the degree to which they help solve the problems given is considered. In the practical part the water balance of the selected area with special degree of protection is evaluated with the prospect until 2100. Based on maps created in the program ArcGIS it was assessed whether the area has become drier and how dry it will be in the next decades. This part of the work further evaluates the flow rates in the chosen watercourse in the examined area, provided by the Czech hydrometeorological institute. It was found that the area has negative water balance which means it is becoming drier. Changes in the flow of water (especially less flow) in the river Punkva are not statistically significant. Based on this data it cannot be said that the flow of water is decreasing. It is possible that if the data were collected for longer time (perhaps 30 to 40 years) the changes in the flow of water could be proved. There is open space for further research. The above mentioned findings can be used as basis for further expert works dealing with this problematics.
Diabetes mellitus, environmental and genetic risk factors
Procházková, Iveta ; Hubáček, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Kovacs, Peter (referee)
Diabetes mellitus (DM) is globally widespread group of diseases characterised by increased blood glucose. There are several types, the most common is type 1 DM and type 2 DM. Multifactorial polygenic inheritance is typical for DM with exeption of couple monogenic forms. Type 1 DM is autoimmune form usually manifesting since childhood. Its manifestation is influenced mostly by HLA system genotype, but also by non-HLA genes together with environmental factors, amongst which nutrition of the children is predominant. Type 2 DM develops usually in adulthood. The development is influenced by obesity and lack of movement, but the individual sensitivity to type 2 DM is also genetically determined. Main genetic factors are variations in genes TCF7L2 and FTO as well as in genes coding cyclin dependent kinases.
Waste management in Klasterec nad Ohri
Bartáková, Michaela ; Trakal, Lukáš (advisor) ; Irena, Irena (referee)
The thesis is focused on waste management issues of the city Klášterec nad Ohri. The work deals with the identification of sites with illegally deposited waste in Klasterec and its surroundings and evaluation of its environmental risk. So far, there were no studies that would address and assess waste management in the area, and therefore I find the selected topic of the thesis beneficial and innovative.
