Živnostenské podnikanie v Českej a ve Slovenskej republike
Marcinová, Alexandra
Bachelor thesis deals with macroeconomic and other economic indicators that have an impact on the number of tradesmen doing business under the Trade Licensing Act. in Slovakia and the Czech Republic. The chapter Survey of literature focuses on the history of the business, explains the basic concepts related to business and entrepreneurs, further clarifies Small and Medium Enterprises and closes with explicated trading. The chapter Author's work is divided into two parts. The first part aims to assess the contribution of trades as part of the Small and Medium Enterprises. The second part describes own econometric model based on panel data explaining the proportion of the number of tradesmen per capita in Slovakia and the Czech Republic based on quantitative macroeconomic data obtained from passive observation and qualitative economic data expressed as artificial dummy variables.
Ekonometric analysis of housing units prices in Prague
Garančovský, René ; Formánek, Tomáš (advisor) ; Frýd, Lukáš (referee)
The aim of this thesis is to find indicators that have a significant impact on the price of housing units in Prague. It will also be a comparison with analyses already done. My analysis is based on a sample of housing units and their data from real estate market. It is based on econometric analysis. The work is divided into four chapters, of which the first and second are theoretical and third and fourth carries a practical point. The first chapter is devoted to the basic description of the characteristics of housing units and territorial connection. In the second chapter we describe used econometric techniques. Into third chapter we enter outputs, made by us in eviews. In the fourth and final chapter we describe, disassemble, compare and analyse individual results of the preceding chapter.
The minimum wage in the Czech Republic and the European Union
Karhanová, Michala ; Pavelka, Tomáš (advisor) ; Breňová, Lubomíra (referee)
The thesis aims is to determine the impact of minimum wage on unemployment of men, women, and the overall unemployment rate in the Czech Republic and selected EU countries. The theoretical part will be discussed different theoretical concepts that deal with the economic impact of the minimum wage as well as empirical studies that examine the impact of the minimum wage on unemployment and the arguments for and against introducing a minimum wage. Subsequently, the thesis will deal with the historical and current development of minimum wages in various EU countries and international documents which affect the formation of the minimum wage. The last part will be based on an econometric model determining whether a minimum wage, growth rate of GDP and the share of the minimum wage to the median wage influence the unemployment of men, women, and the overall unemployment rate in the period 1995 to 2014 the Czech Republic, Luxembourg and Hungary.
Hedonic models on real estate market
Špesová, Nikola ; Zouhar, Jan (advisor) ; Bíza Bisová, Sára (referee)
Thesis is concerned with the Prague apartment prices. It compiles various econometric models determine that price under linear regression. It discusses the influence of individual factors such as size, number of rooms, floor, type of ownership, and so on. It focuses on three main hypotheses. The first is the floor impacts, which is proving to have a quadratic functional dependence. The second is a comparison of personal property with a cooperative and brick and panel construction. It turned out that the price difference between brick privately ownership and cooperative panel construction can be up to nearly 30 %. The last major hypothesis is the impact of time perspective between 2006 and 2013. The data shows that the financial crisis of the years 2007 - 2009 hit the Prague real estate market only on a small scale.
Is Jakub Kováč more employable than Gejza Žiga in the labor market in Eastern Slovakia?
Tóth, Michal ; Svoboda, Miroslav (advisor) ; Babin, Jan (referee)
This thesis explores discrimination of Gypsies in the labor market in Eastern Slovakia. Using the experimental method I observe the hypothesis about discrimination of this minority in the labor market. The experiment consists of sending fictitious resumes with typical Gypsy and typical Slovak names to job offers in various fields. The results show discrimination against Gypsy minority, when Slovak candidates received 57% more callbacks for an interview. The highest rate of discrimination was in the waitstaff jobs, where employees regulary come into the contact with customers. Using an econometric model I estimated, that the chances of a job candidate for an interview invitation are about 19% lower if his resume contains typical Gypsy name. Afterwards I sent a questionnaire examining attitudes and opinions of employers on discrimination against gypsies to 190 companies in Košice and Prešov Region. Of the 70 replies in 2 cases the company representative admitted, that Gypsy name in the resume disqualifies this applicant.
Econometric analysis of sales of toilet paper in Tesco Stores ČR a.s.
Záhorovský, Radek ; Sekničková, Jana (advisor) ; Dlouhá, Zuzana (referee)
The purpose of this work is to quantify the influences that affect the sales of selected products for toilet paper segment in the retail chain Tesco Czech Republic. The model is based on a long-term observation of the time series of sales and average prices for selected products. For the quantification is used an estimation of exponential function fot model which is subsequently verified. Parameter estimation is calculated by using the software EViews. The work compares the results of the model for different products and searching for the most effective way of promotion for each brand. The calculated parameters can be implemented for the planning of sales for toilet paper segment. The results show differences between branded and private toilet paper brand, that are caused by differences in the perception of quality by consumers.
Minimum wage in economic context
Kratochvíl, Martin ; Durdisová, Jaroslava (advisor) ; Krebs, Vojtěch (referee)
The thesis analyzes how minimum wage influences unemployment in the Czech Republic. Firstly, the economic theory is researched and the conclusion is that the Czech labour market is very similar to a monopsony market due to the low mobility of the workforce and the low rate of immigration. Another result is that the level of wages in developed economies does not depend on the productivity of the workforce anymore, so minimum wage laws have psychological impacts rather than economical. The following part of this thesis is dedicated to the comparison of labour market indicators between european countries. The last chapter investigates the main hypothesis with a dataset from the Czech Republic between 1993-2014 using the econometric model. A 1% increase of real minimum wage resulted in a 0.01% increase in the general unemployment rate and a 0.1% increase of unemployment among the young population. But if the minimum wage will be raised during the times of real GDP growth, influence on unemployment will be eliminated.
Identifikace faktorov ovplyvňujúcich mieru absolventskej nezamestnanosti na území Slovenskej republiky
Blašková, Terézia
This bachelor thesis identifies factors that affect graduate unemployment in the Slovak Republic. I examined the rate and direction of the impact of explanatory variables such as age, sector of economic activity, geographic area and highest level of education. To identify this impact, the ordinary least squares method was used. The calculated estimates of the regression parameters provide a basis to identify the impact of each variable and for the unemployment rate estimation. I proved, that all of these explanatory variables are statistically significant in modelling of the unemployment rate. The unemployment rate estimation was made on the basis of demographic trends in the context of various explanatory variables. In conclusion, there are the findings and recommendations for lowering the graduate unemployment rate summarized.
Analýza výdajů domácností v letech 1993-2013
Staňková, Žaneta
The main aim of this bachelor thesis is to determine how the economic crisis has affected household spending in the Czech Republic after 2009. The intermediate aim is to determine the development spending from 1993 to 2013. It is studied the influence of this crisis both on total spending as well as on component household spending especially on food and non-alcoholic beverages, housing and ener-gy, and catering and accommodation services. All used data is taken from the CSO database and is processed using econometric time series analysis using the Excel and Gretl software.
Stanovení faktorů ovlivňujících čas potřebný pro zpracování účetnictví a daní
Brtníková, Martina
Brtníková, M. Determining factors affecting the time required for processing accounting and taxes. Diploma thesis. Brno: Mendel University, 2014. The aim of this thesis is to find the factors that affect the time required for the processing of accounting and taxes. Another goal is to create a multidimensional econometric model that meets the assumptions of the classical regression model. The theoretical part focuses on basic obligations in accounting, taxes and wages under the relevant legislation. A method of regression analysis is also introduced. In the practical part the dependence between the number of hours and selected explanatory variables in chosen companies is examined. The result is an econometric model that is 90 % identical to the original data. The final model contains four explanatory variables. This is the number of received invoices, the number of issued invoices, the number of employees and experience of the accountant. The model will be used as a support tool for decision making about the acceptance a new customer into the accounting office.
