Neoliberalization of agriculture in Africa and its impacts

The presented thesis examines impacts of neoliberal policies on agriculture in the developing countries using the example of Zambia and Angola. It is based on a comparision of two most similar countries, which have been different in their approach to implementation of neoliberal policies. Another objective of this thesis is also the spatial transformation of Zambia's agriculture as a result of implementation of policy conditions in structural adjustment programmes. The focus of the paper is motivated by lack of similar approaches in research of neoliberal agriculture policies. This thesis also analyszes research of neoliberalism of agriculture and food regime theory, which has already been carried out. A large amount of data was compiled and processed from several data sources, and utilised to evaluate research questions. Research has confirmed decline in food crops production and yields in Zambia as a result of neoliberal policies, which could threaten the food sovereignty of the country. Furthermore, changes in the spatial distribution of crop production were observed, which are mainly related to the abolition of subsidies and different farmers behavior due to the introduction of Structural adjustment programs. The aim of this work is to propose and economically evaluate a strategy for business development of Simandl's family farm. The thesis consists of two parts. A review of literature is based on scien-tific, academic and expert materials and researches. The results of the thesis are made on the basis of analysis of inner environment and financial analysis, under which are revealed strengths and weaknesses of the company. According to analysis of the external environment, opportunities and threats are determined. In compliance of these data, the strategies are specified using the SWOT analy-sis. The strategy that was chosen as the most suitable for the company is after-wards economically calculated.

Business in the organic agriculture in upland areas

The aim of this thesis was to assess business development opportunities in organic farming in selected enterprises in upland areas and a proposal how to improve its performance. The theoretical part explains the basic concepts of organic farming, the current status of organic agriculture, inspection and subsidies. Special attention is paid to the issue of calculation. The practical part deals with the analysis of structure of costs and incomes of livestock production and describes anomalies in the company during the monitored period. In conclusion, the thesis presents the main results of the solved problems and proposed recommendations how to improve the management of the analyzed company with regard to the welfare and business continuity.

Business In The Ecological Agriculture

The aim of this thesis was to evaluate the structure and the economics of organic farming in the chosen company. There are some notes from literature in the theoretical part, which explain the basic concepts of organic farming, its objectives and principles. Following sections focus on the current status of organic agriculture, control and subsidies. Special attention is paid to the issue of calculation. There is an analysis of the structure of costs and incomes of vegetable and livestock production in the practical part. The analysis shows that the company should have been focused on increasing income and better realization of their own production. Also the conclusion of the analysis is that the company is unable to manage without financial support.
