Dissertation Abstract Title: Integration of Palliative Care into a Social Service - Nursing Home Author: Ing. Mgr. Matěj Lejsal Tutor: prof. Walter Lorenz, M.Sc., Ph.D. Scientific field: Sociology Institution: Charles University Faculty/Department: Faculty of Arts / Sociology Department The presented study offers an alternative perspective on the implementation of systemic social changes based on a systemic approach. The study is embedded in intermediate long-term care, which represents a dynamic system with regard to demographic development and the increasing complexity of the social problems being solved. In the study, the small effectiveness of linearly conceived changes is demonstrated on historical development. Using the method of action research, the author examines the process of change - the integration of palliative care into a social service, which is based on the framework of a specific organization and from the beginning has the ambition to ensure a societal impact. At the end of the study, the author formulates key principles for the implementation of changes of a similar type. Keywords: long-term care, systems thinking, system change, social services, palliative care
