Použití různých mléčných krmných směsí ve výživě telat
Divišová, Markéta
The aim of this diploma thesis is to evaluate the weight, hip height differences, and the occurrence of diarrhea in calves, which were fed with various milk compound feed. The experiment was conducted on 26 Holstein calves divided into 2 groups (n = 13). The control group was fed by milk compound feed Startino (Sano) and the experimental group with milk compound feed LilaCitro (Sano). The control compound feed was a skimmed milk type and the experimental compound feed was a whey type. Feeding went on the identical schedule. The experimental compound feed was used from the 3rd week as at this age, the calf is able to digest whey. In evaluated parameters (weight, gain, hip height, diarrhea occurrence), there were not found any statistically significant differences between the groups (p>0,05). The economical aspect of different feeding compounds was evaluated as well. The overall expenses of milk compound feed of the experimental group are 1 652,02 CZK lower than those of the control group. Given that we did not find out any statistically significant differences in weight, hip height, and diarrhea occurrence but there is the evident difference in the expenses of compound feed, it is feasible to recommend and use cheaper milk compound feed of whey type.
The role of the pediatric nurse in the prevention of infectious gastroenteritis in the pediatric ward.
CARDOVÁ, Barbora
The master thesis focuses on the role of a pediatric nurse in the prevention of infectious gastroenteritis in the pediatric departments. In the theoretical part of the thesis the focus is paid to general information concerning gastroenteritis and preventive measures in case they occur in the pediatric departments. In the empirical part of the thesis three goals are set. 1. Evaluate the health literacy of pediatric nurses working in the maternity ward and pediatric department in the field of pediatric gastroenteritis. 2. To assess the health literacy of pediatric nurses working in pediatric departments in the field of preventive measures against the spread of gastroenteritis in maternity wards and pediatric departments. And the 3rd last goal was to determine the opinions of pediatric nurses working in primary care and in pediatric departments regarding the optional vaccination of children against rotavirus. This part of the thesis deals with the analysis of data obtained using a self-administrated questionnaire. Questionnaires were given in the Hradec Králové region to nurses working in the pediatric and maternity departments of four local hospitals and to nurses in primary care at general practitioners for children and adolescents. The return of properly completed questionnaires was a total of 146, of which 110 questionnaires were from inpatient departments and 36 questionnaires from primary care. The research has shown that nurses have knowledge in the field of gastroenteritis, but they are not 100% informed. In the area of preventive measures of the spread of gastroenteritis, both research groups of nurses are very well oriented, and additionally nurses from primary care have a more positive opinion regarding the vaccination against rotavirus than nurses from inpatient departments. The output of the master thesis is a educational material for nurses, focused on the prevention of transmission of infectious gastroenteritis in pediatric inpatient departments.
Influence of probiotic feed supplements on the growth and health calves
ŠEBKOVÁ, Anna
Thesis contains informations about right stabling and nutrition of calfs. It´s include importance of probiotic supplements and their influence to growth and health of cows. Newborns weight in seven days after birth was similar (54 kg) in every of three groups. Significant diferences were registered at the end of these monitoring, in ninety days after birth. First Group witch consumed RumiForm Digest had average wight 126 kg. Groups witch consumed RumiForm Digest with bacteria mixture, had average weight 146 kg. In every monitored groups diarrheal was detected. The biggest frequency was detected at group, witch consumed RumiForm Digest with bacteria mixture. There was detected 9% diarrheal diseases in total 48 calfs. Deads were detected only in the group of calfs whitche eat RumiForm Digest with probiotics during the experiment. Total mortality was less thas 2%. There wasn´t shown influence of probiotics to calfs growth (p-value (calves weight on the 7th day after birth) = 0,63; p-value (calves weight on the 90th day after birth) = 0,31, p-value greater than 0,5), either to calfs health (p-value (comparison of diarrhea rates) = 0,67; p-value (death) = 0,82, p-value greater than 0,5). Can not be said, that the eating of probiotics supplements had pozitive influence to calfs grow and health.

Hampl, Tomáš ; Vejsová, Marcela (advisor) ; Konečná, Klára (referee)
Author: Tomáš Hampl Title: Rotavirus as an agent of diarrheal diseases Bachelor thesis Charles University in Prague, Faculty of Pharmacy, Hradec Králové Field of study: Medical Laboratory Background: This bachelor thesis aims at dealing with rotavirus issues, taxonomically classifying them, describing their structure, properties, origin and course of the diseases they cause. In the experimental part the thesis will deal with the epidemiology of rotavirus infections at the Faculty Hospital in Hradec Králové in the period between 2010-2017 and their evaluation. Main findings: Rotaviruses are very often the cause of serious and dangerous diarrhea in children up to 5 years of age, including infants and toddlers. According to the WHO, more than half a million children worldwide die each year, where children will get ill around 150 million. Therefore, early diagnosis and appropriate therapy are very important. An adult can also become infected, the course of the disease is much milder than children. Conclusions: Important prevention of the origin and spread of rotavirus infections requires careful personal hygiene, especially hand washing. Because infections are the most common in children's groups, disinfection of the environment, toys, furniture and other objects is necessary in case of spread of...
Nursing care in childern with diarrheal diseases
MAJEROVÁ, Andrea
Theoretical basis: The bachelor thesis briefly describes types of diarrheal diseases, with particular emphasis on their cause and treatment. These diseases are divided by their origin into two categories infectious and noninfectious diarrhea. These are then further described and divided into subcategories, which represent the specific causes of diarrhea. For each of the causes there are briefly described diagnostic methods, treatment and the nurse's role in the healing and nursing process. After this introduction to the problem, there is described education of children and parents, specific for diarrheal diseases. The thesis describes the most frequent nursing problems with children having this kind of diseases, such as dehydration, pain and so on. Conclusion: In this bachelor thesis we would like to point out on the most common problems caused by diarrheal diseases, as well as the necessity to keep the regime and dietary measures. Bachelor thesis can be used as educational material for mothers in preventative and regime measures of the disease
Possibilities of the application of supplemental and nonconventional methods in prevention and health care in calves
KONRÁDOVÁ, Petra
Diarrheal diseases of calves are one of the most serious risks of rearing calves and cause economic losses. For this reason, the objective of this work was to assess the influence of means of support in operating conditions for the incidence of diarrheal disease in calves in the early post-weaning stages. A company was chosen for this work in which both the company employees and an external veterinarian were willing to collaborate and provide not only information about the breed in question, but also biological material. This company was JINOS - AGRO Veselí nad Lužnicí. The calves were observed in the period of April - June 2009. The calves were housed in separate boxes the second day after birth until the average age of 56 days. After storage, they were divided into 5 groups: 4 based on the chosen means of support, and a single control group. Faeces samples were collected from the calves and subsequently evaluated. The calves to whom were administered means of support were then evaluated to assess the effect thereof on the incidence of diarrhea, the duration of diarrhea, the method of treatment, and the duration of treatment. The results were summarized and analyzed using a statistical program (STATISTICA 7.0.). There was no statistically significant difference found between the individual groups and the experimental group. An evident and statistically significant difference was found only in the case of a difference between the drugs of the 2 experimental groups, specifically between Lactovita and Homeopatika. Based on this observation, it can be stated that there was no evidence supporting the effectiveness of administered means of support for the incidence of diarrheal disease in calves in the early post-weaning stages.
Possibilities of the usage of nonconventional methods and dietary supplements in prevention and in health provision of calves.
ZÁBRANSKÝ, Luboš
It is important to take care of calves and their health for good results in beef-raising. The aim of the work was to evaluate the effect of dietary supplements Lactovita and Biopolym on the frequency of diarrhoea occurrence in calves in the first stages of the period after weaning for milk nutrition. The experiment was conducted in farmers' cooperation Staré Hobzí, where Holstein Cattle are bred. Two groups of calves were made ? control and experimental group. In an experimental group dietary supplements to support active immunity were served according to the guideline. In case of diarrhoea occurrence the calves from experimental group were cured in the same way as the calves from control group. The occurrence of disorders during the period of experiment, method and length of treatment were recorded. Recorded data were summarised and statistically evaluated. The calves were examined from 29th February to 20th December. The results proved positive effect of dietary supplements Lactovita and Biopolym, but these results were statistifically insignificant. It is assumed that in case of studying bigger groups the proof of statistical significance will be more probable.
