Algebraic methods for a solution of a cubic equation
Sladká, Vladimíra ; Kureš, Miroslav (referee) ; Klaška, Jiří (advisor)
Solving cubic equations algebraically, we try to obtain three roots. One of them is real and the other ones may be either real or complex conjugate. The computations in this work are performed by means of Cardano formulae. Nowadays, Cardano formulae are rarely used due to their impracticallnes. Numerical methods are used instead.
Polynomial Equations Roots
Tomšík, Filip ; Kopřiva, Jan (referee) ; Kunovský, Jiří (advisor)
Bachelor´s thesis purpose was been study solution algebraic and differential equation. We were studying Bairstow method, which is the most conducive to solution homogenous differential equation higher order. Implementation Bairstow method and her connection with Gauss elimination method. In the end we are performed tests on rate calculation and accuracy.
Matematické aspekty Van der Waalsovy rovnice
HÁNA, Jiří
The thesis deals with cubic equations and their application in physics. The first part clarifies some basic terms, which are then used in the following chapter, which is focused on solving the cubic equations using analytical and numerical methods. The third part of the thesis presents the Van der Waals equation, shows the possibilities of calculating the critical values of the pressure, the thermodynamic temperature and the molar volume, as well as the creation of a p-v diagram using a computer. The last part of the thesis is focused on a teaching unit draft on the thesis topic using the concept of STEM. The last part also presents interesting curves on the thermodynamic surface and shows the advantages of the STEM approach.
