Possibilities of Error Annotation of Non-Native Speakers' Czech
Svák, Jiří ; Šebesta, Karel (advisor) ; Pierścieniak, Piotr Paweł (referee)
Bachelor thesis "Possibilities of Error Annotation of Non-Native Speakers' Czech" compares annotation systems of selected learners corpora from the perspective of error annotation. For the comparison, two learner corpora were chosen - Czech CZESL and German FALKO. Both corporas use stand-off multi-level annotation model. The paper is divided into two parts: theoretical and practical. In the theoretical part there is an in-depth description of both of selected corporas and their annotation models. The practical part presents annotation of pupil text processed in annotation models of both corporas. The aim of this paper is to highlight possible strengths and weaknesses of selected annotation formats.
Word order reconstruction
Dvořák, Tomáš ; Vidová Hladká, Barbora (advisor) ; Mírovský, Jiří (referee)
A word order reconstruction is a re-arrangement of words to get a gramma- tically correct sentence. It is a very useful task for the applications of natural language processing, machine translation, speech recognition or construction artificial communication partners. We present a corpus-based approach to the task of word order reconstruction. We use two methods: morfological and syntactical method. Both methods use output from the external module. This approach is designed independently on the application where the word order reconstruction can help improve overall performance. Czech and English will be used as the object language. 1

Morphology of onyms: the past vs. today
Šimandl, Josef
This paper discovers core and limits of investigating grammatical properties of onyms, using electronical texts, corpora in particular. Section 1 reminds older treatments. Two central sections – 2: on pluralia-tantum toponyms in -y; 3: on names like Kabáti ‘members of the Kabát group’, apart from other meanings – introduce two groups of today’s problems: from one side, an unexspectably broad variation is attested; from the other side, new ways of grammatical forming emerge from the border between standard and non-standard, namely by chrematonyms, where the mere evidence of their repertory is a hard task. Section 4 enumerates the possibilities of a grammatical description.
To the multifunctionality of suffixes for names of properties
Šimandl, Josef
Based on material concerning two of Czech suffixes for names of properties, the contribution defends three theses: (1) The multifunctionality of word-formation means can be mapped easier than before by using corpora. (2) The description of word-formation means ought not be given in terms of categories (word-formation c., onomasiological c.); it can be given as a grammar of single means. (3) Problematic and peripheral cases, whereby some of them reach high frequencies, appear more distinctly in the grammar of means.
