Slab bridge
Malý, Jan ; Muroň, Vlastimil (referee) ; Panáček, Josef (advisor)
Bachelor's thesis deals with the design of a road bridge over the Volyňka river. Three bridging variants were proposed, of which the bridge variant, whose supporting structure consists of an additional pre-stressed concrete slab, was chosen for subsequent detailed assessment. The variation with prestressed prefabricated girders with composite slab is chosen for more detailed assessment. Detailed structural design is made and selected parts of the construction are checked for ultimate and serviceability limit state by Eurocode. Calculation of load is made by manual way and then by exact way with program Scia Engineer 22. The results from both calculation methods are then compared. Detailed drawings and visualization are made as well.
Analysis of the Punching Shear Resistance of Reinforced Recycled Aggregate Concrete Slabs According to Various Standards
Fecko, Tadeáš ; Halvonik, Jaroslav
This paper presents an analysis of the punching shear resistance of reinforced recycled aggregate concrete slabs. This work mentions several papers focusing on recycled aggregate concrete slabs. Punching shear resistance is assessed according to three design approaches based on standards. This article also describes the design of an experimental programme for the testing of reinforced concrete flat slabs from recycled aggregate concrete. A comparison of the results of analytical calculations and experiments shows that the most accurate design code was the second generation of Eurocode 2 and Model code 2010 with an updated failure criterion when the mean values of the ratio Vtest /Vcalc reached 1.15 and 1.14 respectively. On the other hand, the design code followed by Eurocode 2 provided results with higher safety when the Vtest /Vcalc ratio was 1.41
Explosive Shapes in Smoothed-Particle Hydrodynamics (SPH) Method for Structural Analysis of Concrete Members
Jindra, Daniel ; Hradil, Petr ; Kala, Jiří
The study compares performances of numerical finite element (FEM) analyses of simply supported concrete slabs reinforced by BFRP bars (basalt fibre reinforced polymer) exposed to close-range (1 m distance) explosions. A sensitivity study of slab deflection and reinforcement strain on various shapes of TNT charges is conducted. Smoothed-particle hydrodynamics (SPH) method is used to model the geometry of the TNT charges (variously rotated cylinders, cubes and spheres), detonation and interaction with the concrete slab, which is modelled by Lagrangian mesh. Karagozian and Case (K&C) nonlinear material model is used for concrete slabs exposed to high-velocity impact load. Finite element analyses have been conducted in explicit solvers suitable for high strain rates. The results of numerical simulations are compared with physical experiment data obtained from the scientific literature.

Růžičková, Eliška ; Wierzbická, Helena (referee) ; Vaščáková, Alena (advisor)
The main goal of the master’s thesis is to design a new building of the nursery in Brno-Soběšice. It is one-storey building. This floor is divided to two same parts. In each of them is day room, sleeping room, office, bathroom, cloakroom for children, cloakroom for teachers with shower and toilet and stock for beds. Also there is director office, toilet, hallway, utility room, room for cleaners, sink and stocks. The vertical loadbearing structures are designed from Porotherm ceramic blocks and the hollow concrete blocks. The building is insulated by a contact thermal insulation system ETICS. The horizontal loadbearing structures and the staircase are designed from reinforced monolithic concrete slab. The roof is flat with extensive greenery. The whole construction are based on foundation passports. The building site contains also an outdoor car park with ten parking spot and garden with climbing frames. The project was performed in Autocad and visualization was performed in ArchiCad and Lumion. All constructions comply with valid standards and regulations. Master’s thesis is divided to three parts. In the first part A it deals with the construction design of a building for a building permission. It contains architectural-building solutions, building physics, situation drawing, reports, building design solutions and fire safety solutions. In the second part B it deals with the design of technical equipment of buildings. It includes the design of sewerage system, water, gas, photovoltaic panels, lighting, ventilation and heating. In the third part C it deals possible systems for the use of rainwater. I described possible systems for the use of rainwater and developed a rough calculation for the selected system.

Verification of nonlinear material models of concrete
Král, Petr ; Němec, Ivan (referee) ; Hradil, Petr (advisor)
Diploma thesis is focused on the description of the parameters of nonlinear material models of concrete, which are implemented in a computational system LS-DYNA, interacting with performance of nonlinear test calculations in system LS-DYNA on selected problems, which are formed mainly by simulations of tests of mechanical and physical properties of concrete in uniaxial compressive and tensile on cylinders with applying different boundary conditions and by simulation of bending slab, with subsequent comparison of some results of test calculations with results of the experiment. The thesis includes creation of appropriate geometric models of selected problems, meshing of these geometric models, description of parameters and application of nonlinear material models of concrete on selected problems, application of loads and boundary conditions on selected problems and performance of nonlinear calculations in a computational system LS-DYNA. Evaluation of results is made on the basis of stress-strain diagrams and load-displacement diagrams based on nonlinear calculations taking into account strain rate effects and on the basis of hysteresis curves based on nonlinear calculations in case of application of cyclic loading on selected problems. Verification of nonlinear material models of concrete is made on the basis of comparison of some results of test calculations with results obtained from the experiment.
