In my bachelor thesis, I focus on the phenomenon of coffee from a social and ethical point of view. The first part of the work focuses on the origin, history, and worldwide expansion of coffee. Furthermore, I deal with the current coffee production, its distribution, and the final consumer. The findings from the first part of the work are related to new problems and issues that arose in connection with coffee production and its trade at the end of the 20th and the beginning of the 21st century. The work deals with the social and ethical aspects of coffee production and distribution from the producers (conditions of workers on coffee plantations) and consumers (their preferences and what influences them) point of view. The second part of the work includes research focusing on consumer preferences for Czech consumers aged 20 to 35. There is also an examination of awareness of Fairtrade and BIO certification among the respondents.
Coffee culture and consumer bahaviour in the Czech Republic

This bachelor thesis deals with the issue of coffee culture and consumer behaviour in the Czech Republic. The thesis is divided into the theoretical and practical part. In the first part, according to available sources, literature of scientific articles and studies, the theoretical framework of the whole study is presented, where the key concepts of consumer behaviour and culture are explained. The first chapter describes coffee and its brief history, the coffee market itself and important coffee producers and consumers. The second chapter of the theoretical part includes consumer culture and coffee culture in the Czech Republic and abroad. Thet third part defines consumer behaviour and consumers' behaviour models, factors influencing buying behaviour of consumers, purchasing decision process and typology of consumers. The practical part is devoted to the quantitative research and subsequent analysis of acquired materials. The aim of the thesis is to map the behaviour of consumers in the Czech Republic in relation to coffee and coffee culture. For the analysis of secondary data, the MML-TGI database from Median agency is used. Coffee making and its culture

My diploma work deals with the topic of The preparation of coffee and its culture which is becoming interesting issue in our modern society and it is connected with modern lifestyle. The aim of my diploma work is exploring people's knowledge of coffee, coffee culture and also of the right preparation of coffee beverages, their health effects and some alternative methods of making coffee. Next point is to survey people's attitudes and social influences on coffee culture. Theoretical part of my work is mainly focused on coffee as a plant, processing of coffee beans, making coffee and coffee culture. The facts have been excerpted from available specialized literature and online resources. I have also used my theoretical knowledge based on my experience with SCAE Speciallity Coffee Association of Europe, that has the seat in London. Empirical research can be used as an inspiration for setting up a coffee bar. My diploma work can serve as a resource for creating specialized publication aimed at either wide public interested in coffee culture or at professional barists.
