Very Low Bit-Rate Speech Coding Based on Neural Networks
Cieľom našej práce bolo navrhnúť vylepšenie trénovacieho dátového setu a použitie postfilterov pre zlepšenie kvality zvuku. Naše výsledky ukazujú merateľné zlepšenia s využitím malého slovenského dátového setu. Rovnako sme zaznamenali, že využitie dolnopriepustného filteru a filtra zlepšujúceho formanty zlepšilo kvalitu výsledného zvuku.
Demonstration of Cryptographic Problems through an Interactive Educational Game
Fišarová, Anežka ; Mezina, Anzhelika (referee) ; Mikulec, Marek (advisor)
The bachelor thesis is focused on the design and implementation of a cryptographic interactive educational game. It focuses on various cryptographic ciphers specifically selected so that people outside the field can be introduced to the subject in a demonstrative and entertaining way. Java and JavaFX were used as the programming language. The thesis consists of four parts, the first two are oriented towards the theoretical part of cryptography and the second two are more focused on the practical application and code development. As motivation for the players, a score for correctly cracked ciphers was used. Furthermore, the work includes a choice of difficulty, which influences which ciphers will be presented to the players. At the end of the thesis, the author reflects on the results and explores ways to further improve the methods presented.
Making OpenType fonts with free software
Bednár, Peter ; Mekyska, Jiří (referee) ; Rajmic, Pavel (advisor)
In thesis themes of typography and computer font of OpenType format is described in details. At the beginning attention is paid to historical development of typeface, where stress is laid mainly on development of Roman and white letter with their characteristics. Having presented basis of typography work is concentrated on topic of digital font with emphasis on possibilities of OpenType format. Further its characteristics and advantages were listed compared to another formats and it was evaluated as format appropriate also for creating font in education process. Letterspacing and kerning were mentioned between basic graphical modifications in creating fonts. In theoretical part of the thesis they were examined in available programs designed for creating font in OpenType format. Except free available means into summary were included also commercial types due to absence of more advanced instruments and functions with free available applications. In evaluation was found that the most convenient for education is Fontlab Fontographer commercial program, free Type lite and Fontforge indicated for Open-source platform. Practical part of the thesis is focused on two chosen programs for creating main font characteristics. The goal was to detect if it is possible to reach identical results when using both programs. Fontographer program enabled to use wide tool palette dedicated to vector graphic processing by means of Adobe Illustrator similar instrument. In the case of Type lite program there were rather less instruments, what is sufficient for elementary work and familiarization with creating of digital typeface. Freeware shortage is basic absence of kerning, spacing or hinting functions. Comparing program possibilities, it falls that freeware programs based on OS Windows with their functionality are sufficient only for entry level users. The best option within free available programs is Fontforge for OS Linux which supports mentioned typographic functions. Fontographer was recommended for teaching of basic characteristics of OpenType font format. Another goal of the thesis was creating of recommended work procedure for creating basic characteristics of OpenType font for students, that is enclosed at the end of the thesis.
Coding for Transmission Systems with Feedback Channel
Varmuža, Jan ; Lambertová, Petra (referee) ; Němec, Karel (advisor)
This project deals with selection and implementation of coding system, which can secure digital transmission from bursts of errors. Following short theoretical introduction is selection of proper coding. Next chapters deals with design and experimental system functionality verification using computer simulation.
Music Style Recognizer from mp3
Duchoň, Luboš ; Szőke, Igor (referee) ; Grézl, František (advisor)
This bachelor's thesis deals with detailed description of MP3 audio data format and music style recognizer. This recognizer is based on HTK Hidden Markov Models toolkit and coefficients obtained directly from MP3 files.
Remote wireless control with encoded transmission
Polách, Matěj ; Hanák, Pavel (referee) ; Szabó, Zoltán (advisor)
This thesis deals with a wireless transmissions issues. It describes the device designing which communicate bidirectionally in free frequency band of 2.4 GHz. It deals with the modulation methods, coding and other wireless transmissions necessities and about prefabricated RF modules properties. It solves voltage level shifting which is essential for SPI communication between microcontroler and module.
LPC Speech Coding
Zapletal, Ondřej ; Kyselý, František (referee) ; Rajmic, Pavel (advisor)
The contents of the thesis "LPC speech coding" are studies of this method of a parametric source coding, explanation of mathematical procedures that are used in it (linear prediction, autocorrelation, Levinson-Durbin algorithm, transfer to a form suitable for transmission, Chebyshev root searching polynomial method) and acquaintance with the signification and application of that method in real speech encoders. The task of the original project of this thesis is a description and simulation of a simple speech encoder based on LPC, which transforms a real speech signal into a bit flow, which contains all of the significant parameters for its backward reconstruction (LSF coefficients, pitch period, excitation level, voice detection - AMDF method). One part of this thesis is a discussion about currently used speech encoders.
Smart modul integrated in power plug
Rusz, Martin ; Musil, Petr (referee) ; Mlýnek, Petr (advisor)
The aim of this work is focus on Powerline Communication technology and select a suitable type of broadband integrated circuit for the integration of a broadband communication module into an electrical installation box. In the introduction of this work, the Powerline Communication technology, the principle of communication, individual types of technology, factors influencing the quality of transmission, current possibilities and setting goals necessary for the design of the module are analyzed in detail. The result is a miniaturized functional prototype of a fully integrated broadband PLC modem in a wiring box.
Image Compression Using the Wavelet Transform
Kontra, Matúš ; Drábek, Vladimír (referee) ; Bařina, David (advisor)
Wavelet transform belongs to modern methods used to compress data. It's application modifies data in such way, that we can use and store them in much more efficient way. Focus of this thesis lies in theoretical basis required to understand this method and its implementation. Next section shifts focus to quantization and coding - operations used to further reduce size of our data, which are provided by the SPIHT algorithm.
Optimization of data communication over high-voltage lines
Minárik, Peter ; Krajsa, Ondřej (referee) ; Mlýnek, Petr (advisor)
The thesis deals with analysis of the PLC (Power Line Communication) system for data communications through powerlines. In the introduction describes the technology of data transmission through the energy network and is divided into categories corresponding with the explanation of the various specifications and features. Different types of coding, affecting the transmitted signal interference and modulation techniques used in a PLC are also described. The practical part is made up of telecommunications network model with transmission channel realized as additive white noise. The model can setup different types of modulation and coding in relate with the signal to noise ratio and bit error rates. The individual blocks settings are described in detail. The model was simulated. The results of simulation are displayed and evaluated at the end of work.
