Vliv chodu počasí na ekonomiku chovu skotu v podhorských oblastech
SVOBODA, Pavel
This thesis is focused on assessing the impact of weather changes on the performance and economics of grazing cattle in the border areas of south Bohemia. The aim of the study was to compare the progress of meteorological parameters observed in three years and put them into the context of the economy of livestock production. In the actual experimental part I focused on the search and processing of data for calculation of economic indicators and processing of meteorological data that provided me with the department of landscape management.
May current climatic changes intervene in the hibernation of the European ground squirrel?
HRINDOVÁ, Veronika
The thesis is concerned with potential effect of climatic changes on hibernation in the European ground squirrel. By background research on influence of particular relevant factors in various species of ground squirrels, I have evaluated how climatic changes could interfere in initiation, course and termination of hibernation in a mammal which belongs to the most endangered species in the Czech Republic.
Temperature dependence of mineralization of organic matter in litter, humus layer and mineral soil from watersheds of Certovo and Plesne lake
JAROŠOVÁ, Eva
In this study soil samples from watersheds of two Bohemian glacial lakes, Plesne and Certovo were analysed. Respiration by heterotrophic soil organisms as the main source of CO2 efflux from soils was measured during long-term laboratory incubation at four different temperatures. The aim of the thesis was to describe a temperature dependence of C mineralization and make a comparison of results among examined places.
Ecological and epidemiological aspects of tick-borne encephalitis
GREGOROVÁ, Eva
Tick-borne encephalitis (TBE) virus is endemic in many countries in central, eastern and northern Europe. Nowadays its importance rises because of its increasing incidence. This study focuses on characterization of tick-borne encephalitis virus, its host and human disease caused by this pathogen and efficacy of available vaccines. Furthermore, an evaluation of climatic changes and their influence on TBE incidence is discussed.
Changes in atmospheric circulation in Central Europe and their influence on climate in the Czech Republic
Cahynová, Monika ; Huth, Radan
This work is concerned with the influence of changes of atmospheric circulation (represented by the Hess-Brezowsky and Brádka’s subjective catalogues of synoptic types) on observed linear trends of 11 climatic elements from 21 stations in the Czech Republic in the period 1961-1998. The ratio of "hypothetical" (caused only by changes in the frequency of synoptic types) and observed trends shows that changes in atmospheric circulation are the primary cause of massive winter warming, and autumn cooling connected with increasing precipitation and humidity. In spring and summer, the influence is insignificant except for precipitation, relative humidity and cloudiness changes that are related to trends in the Hess-Brezowsky catalogue, mostly in spring.
