Červenková, Lucie ; Bitnar, Petr (advisor) ; Ježková, Martina (referee)
The aim of this thesis is to explore the possible use of classic ballet in physiotherapy. It explains the concept of classical ballet, its history and contemporary forms and deals with the contributions that dancing can make to postural stability and control. The possible relation between classical ballet and hypermobility and the psychological and social benefits of dancing are also considered. The thesis presents a case study that describes a set of ballet exercises, its use and the resulting stability improvement in a patient. Finally, a proposal outlining a group therapy session course using components of classical ballet is included.
