Possibilities and Limits of using Drama Education in Chemistry Teaching on the Example of Thematic Unit Chemical Reactions
Mertlová, Kamila ; Bílek, Martin (advisor) ; Chroustová, Kateřina (referee)
Diploma thesis deals with the possibility of implementation of methods of drama education into chemistry teaching, specifically into the teaching of thematic unit Chemical reactions. Involvement of dramatic methods into the teaching should help pupils understand otherwise relatively abstract curriculum related to chemical reactions better. Moreover, this connection has a potential to improve pupil's attitude towards school subject chemistry. The theoretical part first deals with the problematics connected to drama education, then with historical development and current form of chemistry teaching. Bigger attention is then paid to thematic unit Chemical reactions. The form of this thematic unit in Framework Educational Programmes for Secondary Education (RVP ZV and RVP G) and also its representation in textbooks for primary and grammar schools is presented. In the end of theoretical part, research of already created activities connecting methods of drama education with chemistry teaching is presented. The practical part first deals with the analysis of school educational programmes (ŠVPs) of chosen primary and grammar schools, which focuses on elaboration of thematic unit Chemical Reactions and on inclusion of drama education into the ŠVPs. Subsequently, three interviews with the teachers of...
Learner's Activation in Chemistry Education at Lower Secondary Schools on the topic Chemical Reaction
Marešová, Drahomíra ; Bílek, Martin (advisor) ; Rusek, Martin (referee)
This diploma thesis deals itself with activating teaching methods in chemistry teaching at primary school in the teaching topic - Chemical reactions. It is divided into two parts; theoretical and practical. The Theoretical part of the thesis defines the key terms related to the overall topic, further focuses in detail on selected activating teaching methods, its advantages and disadvantages, as well as criteria for choosing the appropriate method. Diploma more closely focuses on didactic games method in chemistry teaching in elementary schools. Also characterizes topic of educational tools in chemistry teaching in elementary school, and, in the end, closely specifies selected topic of Chemical reaction from FEP EE (Framework Educational Program for Elementary Education) and available, already existing, materials. The Practical part of the work brings a list of suggested materials regarding the topic of Chemical reaction with description of individual activities, application and environment, methodology and support means, including the results of their verification in collaboration with the elementary school of Charlotte Garrigue Masaryk in Lány in the period between months of March and June. KEYWORDS Activation of pupils, teaching chemistry at elementary school, chemical reactions, didactic games.
Influence of Size Effect on Chemical Reactions on Surface of Aerosol Nanoparticles
Levdansky, V.V. ; Smolík, Jiří ; Ždímal, Vladimír ; Moravec, Pavel
Chemical reactions in aerosol systems are paramount for a number of processes occurring in the atmosphere and in various areas of chemical technology. In the case of the nanoscale aerosol particles the particle size can influence the rate of a chemical reaction on the nanoparticle surface.

Influence of Size Effects on Homogeneous Nucleation Inside Nanoparticles
Levdansky, V.V. ; Smolík, Jiří ; Ždímal, Vladimír ; Moravec, Pavel
It is known that many physicochemical processes in aerosol systems with nanoscale particles and in nanoparticles themselves depend on the particle size. The influence of size dependence of the condensation coefficient on gas-phase nucleation was discussed in (Levdansky et al., 2010). Some problems related to nucleation in confined space, in particular the depletion effect of the ambient phase, were considered in (Kožíšek et al., 2011; Schmelzer and Abyzov, 2011). Here we study the size effects in homogeneous nucleation inside nanoparticles related to size dependence of the effective rate constant for the attachment of monomers to the critical cluster.

Size-Dependent Rate Constant of Chemical Reactions in Nanoscale Particles
Levdansky, V.V. ; Smolík, Jiří ; Ždímal, Vladimír ; Moravec, Pavel
It is known that many processes occurring in heterogeneous systems with nanoscale objects are characterized by some specific features due to size dependence of parameters describing processes in question. This can in particular affect nanoparticle formation. Some problems related to the trapping of impurity molecules by nanoparticles were considered in (Levdansky et al., 2009). Here we study the influence of the size effect on chemical reactions inside nanoparticles.

Comparison of Pentachlorophenol Experimental Dechloration with Thermodynamical Calculations by Municipal Incineration Waste Fly Ash
Vlková, Leona ; Pekárek, Vladimír ; Bureš, M.
The aim of this study is the comparison of dechlorination experiments of chlorinated phenols by the fly ash from municipal waste incinerators with thermodynamical calculations. Discussed are: isomer stability of chlorinated phenols for the given level of chlorination, isomerization, chlorination and sythetic reactions in the course of dechlorination reactions and the proposed principle ruling the dechlorination process.
Causes of sulphate concentration increase in groundwater
Ďurďová, Libuše
Article deals with many genetical sources of sulphates in groundwater. Possibilities of releasing sulphates from natural rocks and from anthropogenic sources are explained. In case of processes caused by involvement of microbiological processes are listed in many representatives from bacteria world and enumerated related chemical reactions.
