Evaluation of possibility of modifying selected part of public lighting network for EV charging
Hýsek, David ; Vrána, Michal (referee) ; Baxant, Petr (advisor)
The master thesis deals with the concept of smart cities in the context of motivation for the use of the synergy of public lighting network and charging points. The thesis provides an overview of projects from the Czech Republic and abroad focusing on the adaptation of the urban public lighting network for charging electric vehicles. Different variants of charging station installations and their management are discussed. Another important topic is the selection of a suitable location for charging stations and the concept of synergistic connection of these stations with the existing public lighting network. The thesis proposes scenarios for using the existing public lighting network for charging electric vehicles and scenarios for bringing a parallel cable to this network in selected Brno locations. The aim is to optimize the efficiency and performance of the public lighting network and at the same time provide a charging infrastructure for electric vehicles. The results of the thesis represent a valuable contribution to urban planning and the development of smart cities that focus on sustainable and environmentally friendly mobility. The synergy between the public lighting network and charging points represents a potential for efficient use of infrastructure in the urban environment while contributing to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.

Perspectives of hydrogen propulsion and electromobility
KLEIN, Jan
This thesis deals with the issue of hydrogen propulsion and electromobility. Initially, hydrogen as a chemical element is explained. Thereafter its production, transport and storage are described, the direct principle of hydrogen combustion is discussed and examples of cars using hydrogen are given. Then the subject turns to fuel cells, where the principle of its function is explained, several types of fuel cells are outlined, and the design of a fuel cell car is presented. Next, electricity and its infrastructure are highlighted, and the functional principles of electric vehicle components are explained. Then the functions and specifications of charging points are described. At the end of the theoretical part, different types of plugins for EV charging used globally are presented. In the practical part, an analysis of the number of hydrogen fuel cell cars and EVs worldwide, Europe and the Czech Republic was performed. Furthermore, the infrastructure of both types of cars was mapped on an identical scale and a survey was carried out in the district of Czech Budweis to map hydrogen filling stations and charging points for electric vehicles.
