Case report of a blind patient after upper knee amputation

Title: Case report of a blind patient after upper knee amputation. Summary: The thesis consists of two parts, a general part and a special one. The general part contains theoretical description of the diagnosis. It includes the anatomy and kinesiology of a lower limbs. Outlines informations associated with prosthetic and rehabilitation from the perspective of physiotherapist. It will further include blindness, its causes and possibilities of rehabilitation with this kind of patient. In a special section, there will be processed casuistry of the blind patient with the diagnosis of the above-knee amputation of his left leg. There will be kinesiology analysis, design short- and long-term rehabilitation plan, an outline of the therapy, outgoing examination and evaluation of the effect of therapy. I made this case report during my rehabilitation practice on the Rehabilitation Clinic Malvazinky in Prague. A handicapped child position in a group of pre-school children.

The name of this work is ?The Position of a child with a disability in a group of pre-school children?. The work ist divided into two parts: theoretical and practical. The theoretical part is divided into three chapters. The first chapter describes the developmental special traits of pre-school age, the second part deals with mental retardation, its characteristics, etiology and classification. Hereafter, it shows the psychological special traits of mentally disabled children and their education in specialized and common kindergarten. The third part deals with the problem of blindness, its classification and etiology. It defines also the diagnosis of anophthalmia, focusing on developmental differencies of a blind child at pre-school age and its education. The practical part presents the results of qualitative research. The methods used in this investigation are observation and projective and sociometric method. The theme was to determine the position of two variously handicapped children in a group of other healthy children, monitoring typical behavior of these children and their possible impact on relationships in the classroom.
Informedness of public about problems of people with visual disabilities

The thesis deals with the informedness of public about problems of people with visual disabilities. In the theoretical part of my thesis I firstly focused on describing the visual impairment and on how to when it can incept. The next point are socialization and integration of people with visual handicap. Then I describe of comprehensive services and special equipment and facilities of blind people. The last point of this thesis is the description how to behave to blind individuals and how to help of them. The practical part consists of quantitative analysis and for gathering the information I used the method of a questionary. The research was focused on the students of a high schools and a total number of respondents was 120. At the conclusion of my thesis I present facts which I got at the research.
Generic myths and facts relating to blindness phenomenon

This diploma thesis devotes to the questions of general public awareness of themes like visual handicap, integration, the blind and their life in society. The aim was to find out, if fables and distorted images exist, which relate to the phenomenon of amaurosis; to compare the findings regarding the education of informants and also to specify the sources, from which people gather the information of the visual handicap. The thesis also maps the availability of the chosen source of information. The research has shown that people believe the fables and fames which are spread in our society. The most informed in the area of the visual handicap are undoubtedly the informants with university degree education, who gain their knowledge at the university, on the internet or from television. The books, which treat the above mentioned themes, are readily available and a few of them are to be found in every local library.
