Vojacek, F. Perception and implementation of the concept of smart cities in the Czech Republic. Thesis. Brno: Mendel University in Brno. Faculty of Regional Development and International Studies, 2023. This master's thesis focuses on the concept of smart cities and their implementation in the Czech Republic. The theoretical part of the thesis describes the characteristics and criteria of smart cities, their benefits, and their contributions to cities, as well as the challenges and obstacles associated with their implementation. Furthermore, the individual areas and tools of smart cities are introduced. In the empirical part of the thesis, data analysis was conducted based on interviews with representatives of cities and municipalities participating in projects related to the concept of smart cities. The results of this thesis showed that several cities in the Czech Republic have already successfully participated in the concept of smart cities, but there are still several barriers that prevent its widespread adoption and successful implementation. Analysis of the weaknesses of IT process

The thesis focuses on research of IT process weakness. In theoretical part are described basic terms and also frameworks or best practise of process maturity rating. Selected practice ITIL and COBIT are then used for rating in practical part. For this purpose is choosen one of process which is outsourced by external contractor. Rating is made using free accessible tools, which are offered by selected practice and which offer rating process. Result is established according to consultation with people involved in project and their rating using mentioned tools.

Evaluation of good and bad practices in the management process of a specific project

The master's thesis "Evaluation of good and bad practices in the management process of a specific project" aims to analyse and evaluate the good and bad practice in the project of "Contract compliance" in the company SAP. The first part of the thesis is focused on theoretical and methodological basis of project management and its processes. The second part of the thesis characterises the company SAP and the selected project as well as analyses and evaluates good and bad practices. Furthermore, the findings are summarised in the Lessons Learned document and preventive measures for the identified bad practice are proposed. This creates a learning material for future project management in the company.

The aim of the master's thesis "Making use of best practice and lessons learned while processing the standard project Flexi Office" is to streamline project management in the selected company by analysing the errors and positives from completed project and processing the standard project for Flexi Office. Theoretical and methodological part describes the project management aspects, methods of planning and project evaluation. The practical part describes the characteristics of the examined company, reference project Flexi Office, processing evaluation of the project under which were stated lessons learned and best practice for the project, and using which are suggested some ways to improve project management in the selected company.

Zpracování manuálů na základě BREF dokumentů (BREF pro zpracování odpadů‚ BREF pro spalování odpadů)

Referenční dokumenty o nejlepších dostupných technikách BREF (Reference Document on Best Available Techniques) jsou referenčními (porovnávacími) dokumenty používanými příslušnými orgány členských států při vydávání integrovaných povolení. Manuál pro užívání BREF dokumentů o spalování a zpracování odpadů je určen zejména pracovníkům krajských úřadů při povolovacích řízeních a zároveň odborné veřejnosti. Součástí manuálu je i shrnutí dotazníkové akce, která proběhla mezi pracovníky odborů životního prostředí na krajských úřadech a která se týkala využívání BREF dokumentů v praxi.

Indikátory pro hodnocení a modelování interakcí mezi životním prostředím‚ ekonomikou a sociálními souvislostmi

Návrh indikátorů vhodných pro průběžné monitorování a hodnocení vazeb mezi životním prostředím, ekonomikou a společností. Projekt je rozdělen na dva segmenty: 1. Lokální úroveň sledování příčin změn v kvalitě životního prostředí, stavu ŽP a důsledků pro ekonomiku a společnost včetně zpětných vazeb. 2. Makro-ekonomické souvislosti ochrany životního prostředí v průběhu transformace české ekonomiky. Zpráva za rok 2010 obsahuje stručné shrnutí dosažených cílů. Na CD-ROMu je uvedena zpráva za spolupříjemce dotace, která se zabývá identifikací a kvantifikací vlivu politiky životního prostředí na inflaci, na strukturu národního hospodářství, na zahraniční obchod vždy s odkazem na publikovaný výsledek projektu.

IS / ICT processes and their mapping to the standards and frameworks in the area of IS / ICT

The aim of this thesis is to define the audit issues regarding IS/ICT sector, creating a summary of standards, frameworks and best practices in IS/ICT - usable for IS auditing and mutual mapping of selected standards to the chosen reference framwork of ICT and following related goal is to make a procedure for the mapping of IT processes on standards in the field of IS/ICT. The aim of this thesis is description and mapping of the most important methodologies, standards and best practices related to the management and audit of IS/ICT and following related goal is building a procedure that allows the company to assess readiness for the certification of any of the selected standards, implement an alternative methodology for IT management or audit IS/ICT. First, the notion of audit is defined and discussed, followed by the discussion of the issue of IT audit, together with the financial audit. This is followed by a description of the different methodologies and approaches, which I used in my work. The chapter continues the description of methodology section that describes the mapping results. The actual mapping is in a separate Excel file and is part of this thesis. In the next chapter there is a procedure for mapping of business processes to different methodologies and standards used for management and audit of IS / ICT, which was created by myself.

Systém indikátorů a monitorovací program pro sledování a hodnocení dlouhodobých environmentálních‚ sociálních a ekonomických změn v národních parcích a biosférických rezervacích

Hlavním cílem projektu je navrhnout a vytvořit systém indikátorů pro plánování a hodnocení udržitelného managementu velkoplošných chráněných území České republiky a zpracovat metodiku pro jejich pravidelný/kontinuální monitoring. Sada navržených indikátorů bude pokrývat environmentální, sociální a ekonomické aspekty udržitelného rozvoje těchto specifických území. Hlavním výstupem projektu bude tento on-line indikátorový informační portál, který bude sloužit zejména jako nástroj pro správu velkoplošných chráněných území v České republiky, ale i pro informovanost nejširší veřejnosti. Hlavním principem studovaného problému je snaha dotčených obcí a regionů v rámci území národních parků a biosférických rezervací (event. jejich bezprostředního zázemí) o ekonomický rozvoj především prostřednictvím intenzifikace turismu a extenzivním rozšiřováním turistické infrastruktury projevujících se negativními vlivy na ekologickém stavu resp. biodiverzitě těchto přírodních a přírodě blízkých oblastí. Řešení resp. posunutí této problematiky přinese nástroj pro systémové sledování interakcí mezi socioekonomickými aspekty a environmentálními aspekty, což představuje moderní trend výzkumu v evropských i globálních podmínkách. Ekonomické prostředí a sociální klima na území národních parků a jejich ochranných pásem představuje základní a nezbytný předpoklad udržitelného rozvoje a efektivního environmentálního managementu v těchto přírodních a přírodě blízkých oblastech. jsou uvedeny výsledky dotazníkového šetření, kterého se zúčastnili místní obyvatelé, představitelé obcí a managementu chráněných oblastí.
