Honey selected quality indicators changes depending on the different ways of feeding of honeybee
TRMALOVÁ, Františka
Diploma Thesis watch qualitative indicators of honey in dependence of different ways of nutrition of bee colony. Determined the influence on fragmentation of honey, content solids materials, acidity of honey, electrical conductivity of honey and using of refractometer to find out content of water.
Gel polymer electrolytes with fire retardands
Veselkova, Iuliia ; Jahn, Michal (referee) ; Sedlaříková, Marie (advisor)
This graduate work deals with the study and preparation of gel polymer electrolytes with flame retardants for lithium-ion batteries. The theoretical part describes the types of electrolytes, their features, benefits, how they differ and where they are used in detail. The basis of this section is gel electrolytes with flame retardants, to measure their electrical and electrochemical properties. The experimental part deals with the preparation of samples of gel electrolytes with different percentages of flame retardant, where varied species of flame retardants and measuring their electrical conductivity and potential windows. Impedance spectroscopy, cyclic voltammetry and dynamic-analytical thermal analysis were selected as measuring methods.
Faktory ovlivňující reprodukci včely medonosné (Apis mellifera)
POLÍČEK, Blahoslav
The content of this thesis is to outline the major and minor factors affecting the results of reproduction honeybee (Apis mellifera). It focuses mainly on comparing the temperature and humidity conditions in the colony and their influence on reproduction of bees or honey production as their main product. Since the reproduction of the bees affected by many factors and these factors have been described in the thesis. Measurements were taken inside and outside temperature and humidity in the hive beekeeping phenophases in each year and compared with the facts and observations at the checkpoint.
Species diversity and quality of honey available on the Czech market
TRMALOVÁ, Františka
This bachelor thesis describes the species diversity and the quality of honey, which is available on the Czech market. In the theoretical part I have focused mainly on physical and chemical properties, test methods and quality classification of honey. Furthermore, there are also legislative requirements for honey. In the practical part, I went to 3 shops, where I focused mainly on the correct information on the labels of honeys and then is assessed according to decree no. 76/2003 Coll., which sets the requirements for natural sweeteners, honey, sweets, cocoa powder and mixtures of cocoa with sugar, chocolate candies.
The application of pollen as bioindicator of the environmental state
Marečková, Kateřina ; Vávrová, Milada (referee) ; Čáslavský, Josef (advisor)
Pesticides and their excessive use lead to environmental pollution. Violation of the guidelines for their use disposal of empty containers could lead to contamination of water, soil and poisoning of animals and beneficial insects. Honey bee is useful creature on our planet. Good farming depends entirely on the pollination, but whole vegetal kingdom couldn’t exist it form known and used by mankind. Therefore, rules that protect these useful creatures against inadequate use of pesticides have been developed. This study focuses on the evaluation of the possibility to use bee products as bioindicators of the state of environment. Five active substances which are components of pesticides used in the treatment of agricultural field around Tasovice village were analysed in the pollen and honey. For sample preparation QuEChERS and SPE methods were used, gas chromatography with to mass spectrometric detection was employed as final analytical technique.
Occurrence of bee brood plaque in South Bohemian region
ŠTURMOVÁ, Jana
In diploma thesis I dealt with American foulbrood infection. At first I was focusing on disease hazards of foulbrood and I was investigating the pathogenesis of the disease bacteria Paenibacillus larvae. Then I carried out analysis of slumgum by culture test in the laboratory. I watched the bacteria P. larvae under a microscope. Next, I followed outbreaks announced by Regional Veterinary Administration. I investigated procedures of the Regional Veterinary Administration in accordance with legislation and decree during detecting the disease of AFB on the habitats. At the end, I developed a list of proclaimed outbreaks in South Bohemia into graphs and chart for the period from 2006 to 2013. The only treatment against this disease so far is burning hives, including all equipment of apiary. That is why I pointed out the importance of reporting suspected outbreaks of American foulbrood, respecting the rules and precautions by beekeepers, and beekeepers should also breed only healthy and strong beehives. Only then the spread of American foulbrood can be prevented and the originator of American foulbrood, the P. larvae, which is very durable, can be suppressed.
Economic and uneconomic estimation apicultural breeding of various sizes
BAZALOVÁ, Klára
In my diploma thesis I deal with agricultural, economic and ecological importance of beekeeping, based on observing the work of three beekeepers with different numbers of bee colonies. First I'm describing the importance of beekeeping, especially pollination, which represents economic benefits that include a variety of financial aid for beekeepers. A non-economic benefit involves mainly beekeeper's work during a year and the time spent with bees. The practical part of the work includes the assessment of financial and time requirements of the observed beekeepers' activities. The first beekeeper keeps eight bee colonies near the region of Kájov. The second beekeeper keeps fifty-five colonies at three different sites in the district of Český Krumlov. The sites are placed at distance of a few tens of kilometres. He is also engaged in keeping certified mothers and bee unions for sale. The third beekeeper has one hundred and eighty colonies which are located at four sites in the district of Český Krumlov within a radius of roughly eighteen kilometres. I have become familiar with the work of these three beekeepers, the economic results from the products obtained and costs used, and the time required by working with bees.
Means of bee communication and orientation
ŤUKOVÁ, Gabriela
Main purpose of this bachelor thesis is to summarize current knowlege about the ways of orientation and communication of bees. The first part describes each of the sense organs which have a large impact on the ability of bees to communicate each other and also to orientate in time and space. Then I describe types of communication with using of pheromones which are devided according to their purpose and effect on the colony, each dance pieces that bees use to communicate (circular and figure eight dance) and how bees find food according to them. Very important element for communication of bees is also honeycomb which carries a two-dimensional vibrations formed by dancers to other bees and also creates specific dance place that is for bees irreplaceable to another part of comb. In second part of bachelor thesis I focus on the ways of orientation of bees, how they orient themselves in the landscape according to sun, polarized light or other significant landscape features and also on the ways how they orientate themselves in time. In next parts of my bachelor thesis I also deal with few experiments which demonstrate the aforementioned skills of bees.
Bee products and possibilities of their use
LUKÁŠKOVÁ, Jana
The target of my Bachelor?s Thesis is to describe the importance of Honey Bee and focus on bee products. With its pollination activity Honey Bee secures propagation of entomophilous plants, is involved in protection of environment and increases yield of arable crops. Honey Bee products have versatile use. Honey is a good quality food supplement. Bees wax and propolis are due to their properties an important material for cosmetic industry. Bee poison is used for hymenoptera allergy care. Pollen serves as an energy source and royal jelly is used for treatment of central nervous system.
