Comparison of energy expenditure in single rope techniques using a different ways of ties
Rozsypal, Karel ; Majerčík, Petr (advisor) ; Sýkora, Karel (referee)
Thesis title Comparison of energy output of one rope techniques using different types of ties. Aims The aim of this thesis is the comparison of energy output of rope climbing with load using full body harness and sit harness. Methods used In this thesis an energy output measurement is being carried out using CORTEX METALYZER® apparatus during rope climbing. In the first measurement probands were tested during rope climbing with load using sit harness only. In the second measurement probands were tested during rope climbing with load using full body harness (i.e combination of both sit and chest harnesses). To compare the results obtained, qualitative analysis a a T-test were used. The results Based on the data obtained and the T-test later performed, no significant difference was found between the measurement readings of sit harness climbing and full body harness climbing. According to the qualitative analysis performed, correlation was found out between preffered sport activities a the measurement results, wherein the persons doing aerobic activities showed lower readings of energy output during rope climbing in the second measurement during rope climbing with load using full body harness, whereas the persons doing aerobic-anaerobic activities showed lower readings of energy output during rope...
