Simple past tenses in Mark's gospel in Old Czech biblical translations
Bendová, Klára ; Dittmann, Robert (advisor) ; Rejzek, Jiří (referee)
The present study focuses on the use and retreat of simple past tenses in representatives of all versions of the Old Czech Bible translation, using the material of the first eight chapters of the Gospel of Mark, accompanied by selected pericopes from chapters 9-16, obtained by manual excerption. The study draws on the current secondary literature, which has recently focused on the transformations of the temporal system of Old Czech in various genres (J. Zdeňková) and in partial probes specifically in the biblical text proper (J. Kyseláková, H. Kreisingerová, K. Voleková). Hypotheses formulated on the basis of the secondary literature were examined using the functions of the Microsoft Excel, statistical calculators at www.socscistatistics.com and the programme R.
