Design of Miniaturized Logarithmic-Periodic Antenna
Podaný, Matěj ; Láčík, Jaroslav
This paper presents a design of logarithmic-periodic antenna for frequency band 500 MHz to 4000 MHz. In order to decrease antenna dimensions, the longest radiation elements are bent. The antenna in the whole frequency band has a voltage standing wave ratio lower than 2 and achieves a gain exceeding 8 dBi, while its width was reduced by 7.89 %.
Design of logarithmic-periodic antenna
Podaný, Matěj ; Kokolia, Martin (referee) ; Láčík, Jaroslav (advisor)
This thesis deals with the design of log-periodic antenna for frequency band 500 MHz to 4000 MHz. The design procedure sticks to two key parameters imposed on the antenna, which are the directivity that must be higher than 7 dBi and the voltage standing wave ratio that must be lower than 2. To reduce antenna dimensions, application of various miniaturization techniques is considered. The antenna is modeled and subsequently optimized in the ANSYS HFFS program. Antenna cover and holder are designed for a protection and fastening of the antenna. The impact of these components on antenna performance is discussed. Finally, the optimized model of the antenna is fabricated, measured and its performance is discussed.
