Spectral analysis of flute organ whistles and their comparison
Sommer, Tomáš ; Michálková Slimáčková, Jana (referee) ; Jirásek, Ondřej (advisor)
This work is focused on the problems of spectral analysis of flutes stops in organ pipes. The first part of this work is about terminology of organ pipes. This theoretical part is also focused on the problem of harmonic analysis with the use of mathematical signal processing methods, which allows this analysis. The second part of this work deals with measuring methods of specific organs and acquiring sound samples and their evaluation and spectrum description.
Analysis of Time-Varying Spectrum of Pianos
Smělý, Pavel ; Rajmic, Pavel (referee) ; Jirásek, Ondřej (advisor)
This work focuses on an analysis of a time-varying spectrum of pianos. The beginning of the work deals with the gradual evolution of the piano, aiming at timbre and design, and it analyzes in detail its individual parts and their influence on the sound spectrum. The theoretical part also concentrates on the issue of harmonic analysis in both the musical conception of timber and the usage of mathematical signal processing methods that make this analysis possible. Another part deals with practical tasks of the work such as a description of an application and functions created in the interface of MATLAB for exploring the time-varying spectrum of tones, description of the method and procedure of the measuring of three concert grand pianos. The work also analyzes, by supporting it with practical examples and by comparing the measured pianos, the most important acoustic phenomena that originate from the production of tones in the instrument; it describes the timber of individual instruments, and it gives recommendations.
Analysis and comparison of spectra in different piano models
Peloušek, Tomáš ; Přikryl, Lubor (referee) ; Jirásek, Ondřej (advisor)
This work focuses on the topic of analysis of the time varying spektrum of the piano. The introduction deals with the historical development of the piano, of its individual parts and the way they influence the tone colour. The subsequent theoretical part is focused mainly on the topic of spectral analysis in the musical concept of sound colours. In the following part a measuring of particular musical instruments is described, these experiments being conducted in an anechoic chamber provided by the instrument producer. It also lists the various methods and calculations used in the process and the conclusion presents analysis of acquired samples.
