For the sobering up of the nation - state policy against alcoholism 1948-1962

(in English): The thesis deals with the state policy against alcoholism in the period 1948-1962 with an overlap into the history of the first half of the 20th century, with an emphasis on Slovakia, but in the context of nationally adopted norms. In the first chapter, which is the core of the thesis, the author introduces the level of state policy, traces the emergence of Law No. 87/1948 Zb., as well as its application in practice. Recognizing that laws do not just come into being, he also brings the public debate prior to its adoption into focus. It introduces the reader to the cultural milieu since World War II and notes state measures in the truncated post-war democratic republic. It presents the basic continuity of the medical, health and moral narrative from the end of the war to 1962, when Law No. 120/1962 Zb. is adopted. Starting from nationwide sources, it uses the method of probing in the districts of Senec and Pezinok to show empirically the regional application of the norms. It traces the basic strategies of the actors and the course of the emergence of the new institution of anti-alcohol corps.
