Nursing Care for Patients with Tracheostomy
Ebertová, Barbora ; Hošťálková, Monika (advisor) ; Maňasová, Taťána (referee)
The thesis is focused on nursing care of patients with tracheostomy. The work consists of two parts. The first part is theoretical. This section is devoted to anatomy and physiology of the respiratory tract, additional chapters devoted itself already the main topic and that is tracheostomy. The implementation presented here tracheostomy history, engineering design, types of procedures, types of cannulas tracheostomických, indications for the performance and possible complications. Another big part of the total nursing is where nursing care is devoted to a patient with tracheostomy and care of respiratory toilet, replacing the tracheostomy cannula and decanting. Then there is included a chapter on communication with the patient and possible alternative ways of communication and nursing diagnosis. The empirical part focuses on qualitative research, the method of data collection are two case reports of nursing. The survey was conducted at the clinic anesthesia, resuscitation and intensive care in two patients with tracheostomy. The aim of the research was to find out how the nursing care of patients with tracheostomy, method of communication with tracheostomy patients and to determine their nursing problems. Key words Tracheostomy, airway, tracheostomy tube, airway toilet, communication, nursing care
The care of the patiens with tracheostomy from the nursing staff perspective
Kritznerová, Tereza ; Hocková, Jana (advisor) ; Nejdlová, Tereza (referee)
The thesis is focused on nursing care of patient with tracheostomy cannula from the perspective of nurses at the Department of the intensive care or Intensive Care Units. It consists of theoretical and empirical part. Essential terminology, anatomy and physiology of the airways, historical aspects of surgical procedures and types of tracheostomy tubes are described in the theoretical part. Moreover, there are discussed modern surgical techniques, indication and possible complication. The next theoretical chapter is focused on the nursing care. The last chapter deals with the different alternatives of communication of the patient with tracheostomy tubes. The research part uses questionnaires as a quantitative research method. The aim of the thesis is to investigate the theoretical knowledge of the nurses in their care of the patient with tracheotomy tubes and knowledge how to communicate with this patient. The statistically significant results are also listed and discussed. The last part concludes with the recommendations of the best practice in the care of the patient with the tracheostomy tubes. keywords tracheostomy, airway, tracheostomy tube, nursing care

Nursing Care for Hospitalized Patients with Artificial Ventilation
Bendová, Šárka ; Strnadová, Alice (advisor) ; Mrákava, Vlastimil (referee)
The Bachelor thesis is focused on patient nursing care with securing the airway and artificial pulmonary ventilation. The work consists of two parts. The first part is theoretical. This section is devoted to anatomy and physiology of respiratory tract. Additional chapters are devoted to artificial pulmonary ventilation, securing the airway and methods of nursing care. The second part is empirically focused on qualitative research. There were two case studies created and compared. The objective is to find evidence that quality of nursing care can affect serious complications associated with artificial pulmonary ventilation. Another objective is to determine the proper nursing care for airway. The qualitative research was conducted at the Department of Anestesiology, Resuscitation and Intensive Care Medicine through data collection, analysis of documents, observation and interviews with two patients. After the studies with both patients we have confirmed that nursing care is as important as doctor's care. In nursing care these patients was not revealed any misconduct on the part of nurses that would result in the emergence of possible complication. This thesis can provide feedback for mentoring nurses in Intensive Care Department. It points to the necessity of performing good patient nursing care...

Options airway paramedics in terms of prehospital emergency care
KOZELKA, Pavel
This bachelor thesis deals with establishing an airway by a paramedic service in terms of pre-hospital emergency care. Considering unexpected accidents and life-threatening situations, securing the airway is one of the most important performances in pre-hospital care. Proper airway securing covers both effective ventilation and oxygenation. It is not always possible to secure using usual techniques. Therefore, alternative methods of airway management are introduced in this thesis as well. The theoretical part is concerned with the airway management. The first chapter aims at the historical background and describes the development of airway securing techniques. Following parts provide with a short introduction to the anatomy and physiology of the human respiratory tract. The thesis describes the concept of pre-hospital care and competencies of a paramedic. It focuses on airway management with or without medical devices and characterizes the main techniques, such as, the oral cavity examination, head-tilt method, the triple airway manoeuvre and Heimlich and Gordon manoeuvres. Regarding airway devices, the thesis mentions pharyngeal airway, combitube, laryngeal tube and laryngeal mask, I-gel, endotracheal intubation and alternative airway securing including coniotomy and laryngectomy. The last chapter of the theoretical part deals with the modes of artificial ventilation. The practical part compares the options of airway management and monitors the level of theoretical knowledge of airway establishing among emergency paramedics in South Bohemia, Central Bohemia and Pilsen Region.
