Overview of platforms for mobile application development
Třísková, Lucie ; Buchalcevová, Alena (advisor) ; Pecinovský, Rudolf (referee)
This bachelor work deals with the evaluation of mobile platforms from the perspective of mobile applications developers. The aim of this thesis is to establish criteria for mobile platform evaluating from the per-spective of novice developer, who wants to develop applications in his free time, and to use them for comparison of selected mobile platforms so that the reader will be able to ad-just them to his preferences and then choose the best option for him. This aim was achieved by synthesis of information from Czech and foreign sources, under which were created my own recommendations for choosing a platform for mobile applications devel-opment. The thesis is structured as follows: first is captured the market share of different mobile platforms in the Czech and worldwide mobile operating systems market, then are described three major mobile platforms (Android, iOS and Windows Phone) in detail, focusing on the specifics of mobile application development, in the next chapter are defined evaluation criteria according to novice hobby developers and the conclusion is based on comparison of selected mobile platforms by the selected criteria. This thesis provides developers with the necessary information and recommendations for the choice of platform for developing mobile applications. In the Czech Republic has not been yet published any work, which compares so comprehensive the most important mo-bile platforms and evaluated them from the perspective of mobile applications developers.
Comparison of mobile operating systems from the perspective of the development, distribution and monetization of applications
Svoboda, Tomáš ; Pavlíčková, Jarmila (advisor) ; Pecinovský, Rudolf (referee)
The subject of this thesis is to compare the most widely used mobile operating systems from the perspective of the development, distribution and monetization of applications developed for these systems. Compared systems are Android, iOS, Symbian OS, Windows Phone and BlackBerry OS. The thesis defines a total of 16 criteria against which systems are compared. These criteria are further divided into three categories, namely SDK features, functionality and distribution and monetization. All criteria have assigned weights which are determined by the paired comparison method using the Fuller's triangle, which is part of the Annexes of this work. Practical part of this thesis is focused on determining the values of defined criteria. Each criterion is evaluated separately, including an analysis of results. The overall evaluation is performed in a separate part of the thesis and is composed by categories evaluation and overall evaluation.
