Silverlight technology
Kouba, Petr ; Morský, Ondřej (referee) ; Uchytil, Stanislav (advisor)
The diploma thesis is focused on Silverlight technology, possibilities of running and application developments. Next Windows Presentation Foundation is introduced, which Silverlight technology results from, and the principal of creation user interface in XAML. Data bindings are used for the information presentation gained from web services. Concept called Windows Communication Foundation enables relatively easy application development gaining data from different resources through web services. Principals of communication with web services based on SOAP and REST architecture are described. An application for observing current stock exchanges information was developed on the base of previous studies. The application consists of server and client side. The server side obtains data from resources which are free available. These data are published through web services. Silverlight client gets data from web services and presents them to users. User settings are stored on server in database. ADO.NET Entity Framework and Domain Service are used for the access to the database.
Tablet data acquisition
Zvak, Martin ; Babinec, Tomáš (referee) ; Richter, Miloslav (advisor)
Reliable authorization and authentication is now becoming necessary for many everyday activities such as boarding an aircraft, doing financial transactions etc. This work deals with the possibility of proposing an appropriate method of acquisition, processing and evaluation of data from the tablet itself, focusing on the possibility of obtaining data from the graphics tablet used in conjunction with a personal computer, for the purpose of verifying identity. It contains an overview of biometrics, as independent developing science over the last decades of the 20th century to the present, a summary of the development of a graphics tablet, the current situation, a brief overview of the most popular technologies used in their construction and distribution. Furthermore, it focuses on the design and implementation of appropriate procedures to obtain data provided by the Trust tablet TB - 7300, using available software development kit for the Microsoft Tablet PC, and a comparison of WinForms and WPF model (.NET Framework), with the declaration of suitability for the use of the second one. Last but not least, according to the response from the available set of users, this work focuses on the design of appropriate types of input data, test patterns, method and application for collecting and processing data from the graphic tablet, as well as their use for the verification of the identity of the individual. Ultimately, it is possible to discuss the accuracy of the method on a set of users, its suitability for use and shortcomings. Based on the analysis of the issue, the proposed method can be declared as under-optimal - it is safe, but inaccurate with low stability and repeatability. It is also important to accent that this is just the initial proposal, the use of applications in everyday life is for current phase impossible and the transition from laboratory conditions would require further development and improvement of the process.

Framework WPF
Vais, Lukáš ; Pavlíček, Luboš (advisor) ; Zilvar, Tomáš (referee)
One of the recent trends at the time of writing this thesis is efforts to provide developers a system to make their work more efficient during development of graphical user interface based applications. Operational system MS Windows has for long time been considered obsolete concerning its graphical user interface components. Inciative in this field escalated in emerge of new, hardware accelerated, technology for graphical user interface to replace the present one. Author of this thesis discusses this new technology called Windows Presentation Foundation. Main goal of this thesis is to provide a study papers for this topic. Scope of the thesis is deliberately limited to techniques that are believed would be most useful for creating CRUD applications. Motivation behind this thesis is author's negative experience with low quality or non-present public sources of information. Significant portion of the thesis is based on author's own knowledge gained during his commercial experience with this technology coupled with additional insights from external sources. Author prefers high quality sources of information with Microsoft Developer Network and books by renowned publishers being considered of highest quality. Author is challenged by limited length of the thesis form. This affects several parts of the thesis in terms of the respective topic details. Despite this fact, author managed to compile detailed enough information to enable the reader to explore even very advanced topics and techniques in WPF.

Silverlight technology and its practical use
Bürger, Michal ; Buchalcevová, Alena (advisor) ; Skoupý, Radek (referee)
This diploma thesis brings a look at the relatively new technology Microsoft Silverlight, which is a new platform for developing Rich Internet Applications (RIA). It contains features and principles of Silverlight technology in a context of several other technologies. As a part of this work, there is a practical project developed in Microsoft Silverlight 2.0, which is used as a demonstration of described principals and techniques in a theoretical part. The goal of this work is to provide the best possible and complete description of Silverlight's features, advantages, but also limitations. In the thesis there can be also found comparisons with related technology Microsoft Windows Presentation Framework (WPF) and also with other competitors on a RIA market.
