Solutions and variability of vertical filters
Roupec, Ladislav ; Hyánková, Eva (referee) ; Kriška-Dunajský, Michal (advisor)
The bachelor thesis deals with innovative technical solution of vertical trickle filter systems, which are categorized into the category of natural ways thow to clean water. The actual vertical filters for root cleaners are currently experiencing a boom thanks to the MPO project with the working title Biostream, within which are vertical root systems tested on root cleaner in the village of Kotenčice (involved in pilot conditions). The results show an increased removal of ammonia nitrogen and high efficiency in the elimination of organic pollution BSK5 and CHSKCr. However, the practice may in the future require even higher efficiency that can be solved by small technical innovations and modifications. In connection with the forced aeration of vertical filters is elaborated the methodological part of the thesis, the final result of the work is several regression equations using which it is possible to determine the input of oxygen into the system at a given input parameters (filter size, water flow, air flow, etc.). The results are very useful for a scientific branch because there is not so much available literature for this topic.

French systems technology for natural wastewater treatment in small municipalities
Tůmová, Tereza ; Němcová, Miroslava Pumprlová (referee) ; Kriška-Dunajský, Michal (advisor)
The bachelor thesis deals with the "French systems" technology, or French solution for natural wastewater treatment. The system receives raw wastewater (without a pre-settling tank) directly into the first filtration stage, the basic principle of which is to process sludge and wastewater in one step, so there is no need to build settling tanks. It is a natural treatment plant which, thanks to its characteristics, could help small municipalities which, for economic reasons, cannot afford expensive mechanical-biological wastewater treatment plants. The thesis includes a clear description of the procedure for sizing the individual facilities according to foreign literature, and a literature search will be carried out within the theoretical introduction to French systems, including operational experience and results from abroad. The theoretical possibilities of using materials other than natural ones for the creation of the filter cartridge of vertical filters will be described. The practical part of the thesis deals with the specific design of a natural wastewater treatment plant using the French system of wastewater treatment for a part of the village of Jablonové in Slovakia. The condition of the design is to meet the emission limits (within the framework of the current legislation) and to ensure the necessary efficiency of wastewater treatment, especially in the pollution indicators BOD5, COD, TSS, TKN.

Study of Constructed Treatment Wetland Reconstruction for Dražovice Village
Roupec, Ladislav ; Pumprlová Němcová, Miroslava (referee) ; Kriška-Dunajský, Michal (advisor)
The constructed wetlands, which have been being created in the Czech Republic since early 90s, are designed so they do not allow successful removal of ammonia nitrogen. Almost all of these 300 registered constructed wetlands suffer from the colmatage which leads to the lowest effectiveness of treatment in nearly all parameters. The main effort of the Institute of landscape water management is to get rid of bad reputation and to clarify the reason that leads to unsatisfactory conditions of constructed wetlands. The diploma thesis focuses on the selected constructed wetland in Dražovice (850 EO), which removes ammonia nitrogen with the effect just below the limit values in the long term. The pressure of the Morava river basin and Department of environment (Building Authority in Bučovice) has led to the necessity of taking measures leading to the increase of treatment efficiency especially ammonia nitrogen. The diploma thesis includes both, actual project documentation concentrating on the adjustment of watercourse to nitrify ammonia nitrogen, and effective choice of suitable filtration material supported by testing method in situ. The practical part of the thesis deals with the implementation of the technical solution according to the project documentation. The adjustment of the constructed wetland is now nearly before completion. Last adjustments will be taking place during the spring 2017, the final inspection as well as the evaluation of the reconstruction will take place at the end of this year.
Design of the technology of the constructed treatment wetland for the municipality up to 500 EO
Suchánek, Pavel ; Mrvová, Michaela (referee) ; Pumprlová Němcová, Miroslava (advisor)
This diploma thesis is focused on creation of complex design of constructed wetland for village Bezděčí near Trnávka, which needs to solve the problem of wastewater management. The introductory part of the thesis, which is focused on the research of professional knowledge and information, familiarizes with the problematics of constructed wetlands, focuses on description of technological objects of the constructed wetlands and the description of their functions. Relevant legislation is also mentioned because knowledge of legislation is necessary for the project. The following part of this diploma thesis deals with the design of the constructed wetland itself. Solution of the design is based on the best available technologies that deliver high-quality research results into practice. The proposed root plant meets all the requirements for the quality of the discharged water according to the relevant legislation. An important part of the diploma thesis are annexes, which contain a completely elaborated project documentation for the issuance of a joint permit for the purpose of realization of the new building of a constructed wetland plant for the village Bezděčí near Trnávka.
The draft of family house with focus on the ecological water management
Stupavská, Jaroslava ; Hyánková, Eva (referee) ; Kriška-Dunajský, Michal (advisor)
The aim of my work is an optimal design of a detached house focused on ecological management of rainwater and household waste water. The work is divided into four parts: the first part deals with the design of the family house, the second part describes water as a medium used in households, in the third part I am dealing with packed home waste water treatment plants, and in the last, the four part, I approach the issue of root waste water treatment plants. My priority is the design of the family house with a water – saving solution. For the designed family house in Velká nad Veličkou, sewage treatment is provided by a vertical root waste water treatment plant, accumulation in the pond together with the filtered rainwater and their reuse in the facility as service water and in the garden irrigation. In the practical part of water management is the design of a sludge management facility. As the grassland is located around the house, a suitable irrigation solution is the location of the sprayers. Thanks to this type of solution, it is possible to save considerable money in management of drinking water and also to improve the microclimate site where the designed family house was built. In my work I wanted emphasise each household is able to efficiently and economically handle rainwater and waste water that can have a great impact on the water cycle in nature.
Effluent-free treatment plant technology for small wastewater producers
Škarpa, Pavel ; Němcová, Miroslava Pumprlová (referee) ; Kriška-Dunajský, Michal (advisor)
The work aims to find new ways to dispose of wastewater. The theoretical part covers the currently known procedures for the discharge of treated wastewater into surface or groundwater, as well as the balancing of wastewater after previous accumulation. Furthermore, the theoretical part summarises the legislation of the Czech Republic concerning wastewater disposal. The measurement part deals with a new potential option, a sump with upstream water treatment. If the treatment is carried out on the principle of natural wastewater treatment, the volume of water can be reduced by evapotranspiration. Therefore, the aim of this work is to determine the realistic evapotranspiration of a vertical filter, to find a design methodology for a vertical filter to achieve optimal evapotranspiration and a suitable technological arrangement. Another objective is to use long-term air temperature records available from the Czech Hydrometeorological Institute database. The average daily evapotranspiration measured on the laboratory model reached a value of 4.5 mm/day in September 2021. In March 2022 it reached almost 2 mm/day. The equations for determining the potential evapotranspiration applied in the calculation part of the work achieved the highest agreement of 67.5% with the evapotranspiration measured on the laboratory model and will therefore be further developed to achieve much higher reliability of the calculation.
Possibilities of technical implementation of intensification the constructed treatment wetland
Suchánek, Pavel ; Kriška-Dunajský, Michal (referee) ; Pumprlová Němcová, Miroslava (advisor)
The Bachelors thesis is a study of three variants of solution of reconstruction and intensification of specific constructed wetland. Request for reconstruction of existing cleaner facility arose from an observer, who demanded increasing of cleaning efficiency because of expected changes on sewer. The introductory part deals with a theoretical summary of expert knowledge and information, which are responsible for familiarization with problematics of constructed wetland. Just the information about reconstructions of others constructed wetlands could be essential for solving this thesis. Based on the results of the progress and effectiveness of the proposed changes, it is possible to be inspired for further solutions. Practical part of thesis is a separate study, within which were proposed three variants of solution. Variants differ in economic and technical difficulty and are linked to each other. The first one is the least difficult option and serves only for maintain temporary state. The second variant includes complex reconstruction of the object using a vertical filter and ensures effective removal of observed pollution parameters (Suspended solids, COD, BOD, N-NH4+). The third option, economically and technologically the most demanding, should moreover chemically precipitate phosphorus. For clarity of the proposal were all variants compiled in 3D model. The aim of thesis was to elaborate several variants of solution of reconstruction and intensification of existing constructed wetland Biskoupky so that the operator can choose the one that suits him at most, taking into account the investment aspect.
