Design of nozzle for ozone admission
Krajcar, Ivo ; Hudec, Martin (referee) ; Rudolf, Pavel (advisor)
The thesis consists of three main parts. The first part contains a research focused on cavitation and fractal geometry. Furthermore it researches disinfection, mainly disinfection using UV radiation and ozone. It is concluded by mentioning advanced oxidising processes used for dangerous pollutant elimination and pointing out of positives and negatives of the individual technologies. The main goal of the fractal geometry research was to briefly explain what a fractal is and how to create different types and degrees of fractals. The second part of the thesis contains a simplified description of the design of a fractal orifice with air suction. This orifice is compared to a simple orifice with a circular opening in the last part of the thesis. Both orifices have the same cross section flow area. This part also describes a simple UV reactor design process. The third part of the thesis describes the experimental measurements of both of the orifices. The data gained from the measurements show that the fractal orifice has a better mixing influence than the circular one and also that the fractal orifice has a wider operational range than the circular one.
Removing organic contamination from water, using UV radiation.
Venská, Petra ; Vávrová, Milada (referee) ; Repková, Martina (advisor)
This diploma thesis focuses on possibilities of applications of UV radiation to remove pollutants from water. It summarizes sources of UV radiation and list their benefits and properties. The thesis characterizes so called advanced oxidation processes using UV light. Degradation pathways od pyridine and its derivatives especially halogenated pyridines are described. The photodegradability of pyridine and a rate of this reaction in model water is investigated in the experimental part. Also, the effect of concentration and dose of H2O2 is assessed. Gas chromatography was used to determinate concentrations of pyridine in samples.
The application of chlorine for public swimming pool water disinfection
Wagnerová, Andrea ; Svoboda, František (referee) ; Biela, Renata (advisor)
The bachelor thesis focuses on issues surrounding disinfectants of swimming pool water. The dissertation examines various chlorine based disinfectants as well as chlorine free disinfectants. Part of the thesis compares advantages and disadvantages of different possibilities of securing hygienic swimming pool water. Several complexes of public swimming pools in Brno and its neighbourhood were visited in order to examine the methods of disinfection, which are currently used at those swimming pools. Disinfectants based on chlorine are currently used the most for swimming pool water.
Generation of ozone by photochemical processes in CO2
Kucserová, Aneta ; Salyk, Ota (referee) ; Mazánková, Věra (advisor)
The bachelor thesis deals with the measurement of ozone concentration, which was produced by dielectric barrier discharge, corona discharge and UV lamp. The concentration of ozone in the air was also measured. The theoretical part deals with the basic properties of ozone, its use and determination of concentration by various methods. In the experimental part, ozone generation is described by the above-mentioned discharges.
Optimization of methods for determining the durability of wood coating systems
Škvařil, Michael ; Žák, Antonín (referee) ; Vaněrek, Jan (advisor)
The bachelor thesis deals with the optimization of methods for determining the durability of wood coating systems. The theoretical part deals with a detailed analysis of wood coating systems, including the specification of their composition, especially with a focus on modern water-borne coating systems. In the practical part an experiment was carried out, where on the selected types of coatings applied to lumber was performed analysis of selected durability parameters of coatings after exposure to short-term and long-term exposure to degradation factors
Printed chemical sensors of UV light
Fanglová, Michaela ; Čeppan, Michal (referee) ; Veselý, Michal (advisor)
The main task of the bacherol´s thesis was to prepare a photosensitive layer reacting to the radiation dose with a color change. And to calibrate the prepared dosimeters to the required values of the radiation doses of the UVB radiation. This bacherol´s thesis is about light dosimeters, which are based on photochemical reactions. These reactions take place in a thin polymer layer. The experimental study focoused on the preparation and application of photosensitive compositions. These prepared dosimeter compositions were exposed to different doses of UVB radiation, where the color response to the exposure was monitored.
Design and Operation of Water Disinfections Plants
Krupicová, Simona ; Rajnochová, Markéta (referee) ; Kučera, Tomáš (advisor)
In the first part of my bachelor thesis I deal with individual disinfectants used for hygienic supply of drinking water based on chlorine and without chlorine. Then I mention the operation without chlorine disinfectants. In the second part of this thesis I describe individual plants using various disinfection methods and at the end of the thesis I compare these methods and use it in practice.
Kinetic study of photochemical reactions in thin printed layer
Rudická, Andrea ; Čeppan,, Michal (referee) ; Veselý, Michal (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with a study of kinetics of photochemical reactions in a thin printed polymer layer. The experimental part deals with the composition preparation and layers coating. The prepared layers were exposed and subsequently studied for their colour response to the light. The aim of this work was to prepare a photosensitive layer with a significant colour change between individual doses of radiation, to improve the mechanical resistance of the layers, to adjust the sensitivity of the compositions to UVB radiation and to study the kinetics of the photochemical reaction used.
Photosensitive thin polymeric layers
Rudická, Andrea ; Klusoň, Petr (referee) ; Veselý, Michal (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with photosensitive thin polymeric layers. The experimental part deals with the composition preparation and layers coating. The prepared layers were exposed and studied in detail for their color response to the light. The aim was to prepare a dosimeter, to achieve significant color change between individual doses, to improve the mechanical resistence of the layers and to adjust the sensitivity of the compositions to UVB radiation.
Options hygiene of drinking water
Šopíková, Lucie ; Hlaváč,, Jaroslav (referee) ; Biela, Renata (advisor)
The first part my Graduate work contains an overview of all possible types of disinfection of drinking water used in the present. The second part shows examples of use of each mentioned type of drinking water disinfection methods, which can be found in practice, that is on water treatment plants. The conclusion is a comparison of advantages and disadvantages of various methods of disinfection.
