The Role of Women During the Reign of the Tudor Dynasty The purpose of this writing is to introduce some rather interesting circumstances concerning the history of Tudor England and the lives of the queens of the famous dynasty. First off, the subject of the royal family's ascension to the throne shall be discussed, as well as the woman who estabilished this new dynasty and greatly influenced subsequent generations. Secondly, the fate of the Tudor queens shall be examined, in chronological order, recounting their lives before and after their ascendancy to the throne. We shall then compare how they were viewed in the eyes of their contemporaries with today's modern viewpoint. The bachelor thesis comprises of two main parts - the translation and the commentary on it. In the first part, a chapter from the book The Life and Death of Anne Boleyn by the British historian Eric Ives is translated. The source text deals with the marriage of Henry VIII and Anne Boleyn and some of its aspects. The second part begins with the analysis of the source text based on Christiane Nord's model and the determination of the text's functions and the translation method. In the next chapters, the major translation problems are discussed along with the translation shifts that took place during the translation process.
