Majvald, Jiří ; Řehák, Kamil (referee) ; Florian, Zdeněk (advisor)
In this bachelor thesis the historical development of function and contruction of the total knee prosthesis is analysed. It contains an overview of the total knee replacement currently produced in the Czech republic and abroad. The description of the strain stress analysis of the tibial component TKR, which was made using the ANSYS software, is part of thesis.

iv Abstract Author: Adam Viktora Supervisor: PhDr. Lenka Žáková, Ph.D. Title of the thesis: Case study of physiotherapy treatment of a patient after Total Knee Replacement Objectives: The goal of this thesis is to gather and understand the theoretical knowledge of the knee joint, osteoarthritis, total knee replacement surgery and its rehabilitation, and then evaluate the therapeutic sessions that were applied. Clinical findings: This study evaluated the condition of a 73-year-old patient after total knee replacement of the right knee. The examination showed a reduced range of motion, reduced mobility of joints, muscle imbalances and differences in conditions of soft tissues. Methods: All methods used for this study were based on the knowledge learned and the literature provided by the Faculty of Physical Education and Sports, Charles University. Results: Following the eight therapeutic sessions, the patient had progressed well overall. Progress was seen in terms of pain, range of motion, muscle imbalances and condition of soft tissues. Conclusion: The therapies applied were effective and valuable in this specific diagnosis of the patient. Key words: knee joint, osteoarthritis, gonarathritis, total knee replacement, physiotherapy, case study, rehabilitation

Title: Case study of physiotherapy treatment of a patient following total knee replacement Abstract: The aim of the thesis is to present the physiotherapy given to a patient with stiffness after an atypical total knee replacement procedure. The work consists of a general part and a special part. The general part aims to explain this particular case of total knee replacement from a theoretical point of view. The goal of the special part is to present physiotherapy as treatment, it's conduction and results. Method: One female patient (b. 1958) with chronic stiffness following total knee replacement was selected and gave consent to take part in the case study. A copy of the form of consent can be found in the appendix at the end of this thesis. Clinical examination, therapy and progress evaluation took place at Rehabilitation Clinic Malvazinky from 21.01.14 to 31.01.14 under the supervision of Mgr. Hana Zemlerová. Utilities used in examination and treatment included treatment table, measuring tape, neurologic hammer, goniometer, overball, big balls, bosu balls, spiked balls, supportive pillows, stationary bicycle and mats. Therapeutic methods and principles used was PIR, soft tissue techniques, joint manipulation and posture correction. The general part was based on theory learned through the bachelor...

Information problems of the client after operaion of the knee joint prosthesis prior to doischarge from the hospital
KAŠPÁRKOVÁ, Lucie
Presently a number of people who need to replace disabled knee-joint for artificial one is rising. The issue of a client{\crq}s awareness about necessity to keep the supportive measures would deserve much more attention. The theoretical framework deals with the post-operation care for a patient following a complete knee-joint replacement operation and the issue of the patient{\crq}s awareness, which is considered an important one in nursing nowadays. From results of research ensued that nurse's role is very important for patients' awareness about postoperative care after complet knee-joint replacement. A nurse should be an active part and should give the relevant informations to patients about postoperative care so that the stage of therapy will be without complications.
