Biocompatible metallic materials
Mišáková, Liliana ; Věchet, Stanislav (referee) ; Němec, Karel (advisor)
This bachelor´s thesis, which was processed in the form of literary research, deals with the issue of biocompatible metallic materials. The aim of this work is to provide an overview of the materials used in general medicine and dentistry and to present the latest knowledge of their development. The first part is devoted to the characterization of biomaterials and their division. In the next section, metals and their alloys are listed together with their desired properties and typical applications. The following section focuses on the method of surface treatment of titanium, which enables it to achieve better bioactivity. The final part of this thesis offers the latest findings on the properties and the way of using low-melting-point alloys.
The use of the Titanium Alloy in the Bicycle Industry
Reichman, Ladislav ; Věchet, Stanislav (referee) ; Němec, Karel (advisor)
This final thesis summarizes the basic information on titanium and its alloys. It describes the mechanical properties, technological characteristics, methods of forming and heat treatment of titanium alloys. It informs of their use in bicycle industry.
Material development of dental implants
Legerský, Radek ; Borák, Libor (referee) ; Florian, Zdeněk (advisor)
The study deals with the development of materials currently used in the manufacture of dental implants. Special attention is paid to chemical composition, mechanical properties and biocompatibility of these materials. The aim and result of the thesis is creation of comprehensive overview of the different material groups, which are characterized by their quality and appropriateness of use. Benefit is an assessment of titanium alloys, which exhibit excellent properties both in terms of mechanical, chemical and biocompatible.
Biocompatible titanium alloys and theirs application
Hofírek, Michal ; Kohout, Jan (referee) ; Věchet, Stanislav (advisor)
This thesis presents use of titanium alloys in medical applications in form of literature research. In first part the basic properties of titanium as element are discussed as well as its behavior in alloys. Next part focuses on proper explanation of term biocompatibility and sums up specific requirements for alloys used in orthopaedic applications. These properties are shown on alloy Ti-6Al-4V ELI and other selected titanium based alloys which are currently being developed.
Applications of titanium alloys
Košťál, Jan ; Kaštyl, Jaroslav (referee) ; Němec, Karel (advisor)
This bachelor thesis will deal with titanium and titanium alloys, their properties and appropriate application in mechanical engineering and other branches. The first part is devoted to the pure titanium, describes technology of production, there are also briefly mentioned physical, chemical and mechanical properties, and according to them the position of titanium among other elements. The main part is focused on the different types of titanium alloys, their properties, production and processing. The conclusion is devoted to the use of pure titanium and its alloys in different industries.
Macro and microstructure of weld joints made of titanium alloy TiAl6V4 by electron beam
Prachař, Václav ; Havlík, Petr (referee) ; Foret, Rudolf (advisor)
The aim of this bachelor thesis is to evaluate macro and microstructures of weld joints made of titanium alloy Ti6Al4V by electron beam welding with different processing parameters of electron beam and evaluate the impact of this processing parameters to the structure of resultant weld joints. The theoretical part deals with titanium and its alloys, the titanium alloy Ti6Al4V and electron beam welding technology. In the experimental part, 11 weld joints are evaluated, their macro and microstructures and hardness profiles.
Influence of heat treatment on the microstructure of alloy TiAl6V4
Fišara, Šimon ; Němec, Karel (referee) ; Foret, Rudolf (advisor)
The main goal of this bachelor thesis is to summarize influence of heat treatment on microstructures and mechanical properties of titanium alloy Ti6Al4V. There are summarized basic facts about titanium and its alloys in the first section of theoretical part. The second section is focused on description of phase transformation, mechanical properties, microstructures and heat treatment of Ti6Al4V. There were made several types of heat treatment in the experimental part and after that there were made metallographic analysis and evaluation of microstructures.
Reaction synthesis of bulk intermetallic materials in Ti Ni system form kinetic spraying deposits
Dyčka, Martin ; Moravčík, Igor (referee) ; Jan, Vít (advisor)
Bachelor’s thesis deals with intermetallic compounds which are formed in nickel-titanium binary system. The theoretical part of this thesis deals with the best known titanium based intermetallics, diffusion and possible processing technologies of intermetallic materials. In experimental part, a nickel-titanium coating created by cold spray technique was used. The changes in microstructure depending on annealing temperature were analysed. The results contain photographs of microstructure and fractures, values of microhardness and results of chemical analyses.
Fatigue Properties of Materials with Protective Thermally Deposited Layers
Matějková, Michaela ; Kovářík,, Ondřej (referee) ; Čížek, Jan (advisor)
Titanium powder was deposited into low-carbon steel specimens using three thermal spray technologies: plasma spray, cold spray (USA, Singapore) and warm spray (denoted as PS, CSU, CS-S, and WS, respectively, in further text). The aim was to determine the influence of the coatings on the fatigue lives of the specimens. The experimental work was carried out in a symmetrical cantilever-beam bending setup using a computer-controlled SF-Test loading device. Further to that, the micro-morphology of coatings structure, their respective porosity content and the fracture surfaces of both coatings and substrate materials was carried out.
Welding of bicycle frame from titanium alloy
Richter, Tomáš ; Kandus, Bohumil (referee) ; Kubíček, Jaroslav (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis is focused to titanium bicycle frame welding. The first part is about bycicle itself. It containes kinds of bikes, materials used for frames and influency of some proportions to handling properties. Next chapter is about titanium. There are properties of titanium and titanium alloys used for bike frames in this chapter. After that there is a chapter about TIG welding, which is mostly used for titanium. This method is mentioned both generally and concretely for titanium. Final part is about technology of bike frame building.
