Testing of Vehicle Suspension Components
Šidla, František ; Blaťák, Ondřej (referee) ; Hejtmánek, Petr (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with issues related to testing car chassis components during development. Automobile transport is the most common type of long-distance transport. That's why vehicles are constantly evolving to provide the best possible performance. Increasing demands on consumers are being placed on vehicles because of the introduction of modern technologies. New technologies and concepts need to be thoroughly tested that they can be properly integrated into existing models. Test devices for determining the characteristics of the chassis are generally described here using specific examples of individual machines. Subsequently, the work clarifies the testing of the service life of individual parts of the chassis. The last part is devoted to the conceptual design of a simplified hydraulic device for testing coil springs. From the calculated characteristics, a hydraulic actuator and pump are selected from the relevant catalogues. In conclusion, the importance of car testing in development is summarized, individual types of testing are described and the readiness of test devices for the future is indicated.
Testing of Distance Protection
Řehoř, Jiří ; Topolánek, David (referee) ; Orságová, Jaroslava (advisor)
The testing of distance protection in bachelor´s task is made a distinction between protection, requirements and relegation. This testing is also consisted in principle of function, describing terms of distance protection and comparing with time-current characteristics. The next step after short estimation was describing digital distance protection SIPROTEC 7SA511. The advantages are included in this estimation. The next part contains some configurations and connections with a test equipment in order to take control of measuring through the computer. The extended configurations are also comprised of two programms – DIGSY and TZO3. We had to make a suggestion of suitable methodics for measuring a time-current characteristic. We carried out three measurements where the test equipment was set to role of type TREND. A magnitude is generated at the output that is changed linearly in time with required rate (speed). We changed a current IX1 for our measurements that was undertaken with a rate of current rise. This process was given by a test equipment when the set values were constant. In the second measurement we modified a size of shift phase in the test equipment. In the third measurement we tried to set up different sizes of particular impedance characteristics (zone) inside of the distance protection where was set a neutral breaking time for the measured zone. On the contrary, the previous measurements had an absolute time.We have introduced evaluated results of measuring and observations in the end of this bachelor’s thesis.

Construction of a single-purpose machine for automatic testing of pneumatic fittings
Tejkl, Michal ; Štěpánek, Vojtěch (referee) ; Tůma, Zdeněk (advisor)
The subject of this diploma thesis is the design of a single-purpose machine for automatic testing of pneumatic fittings. Pneumatic fittings used in brake systems are subject to high technical requirements and 100% tightness control in production. In this case, manual testing is not effective and the goal is to automate the process. The theoretical part presents pneumatic mechanisms, analysis of the tested pneumatic fitting with technical parameters, the possibility of tightness testing, use of sensors, and rotary tables. In the practical part, a systematic analysis of the problem was performed, according to which the overall design proceeded. Subsequently, the design of the complete machine containing individual nodes is processed, supplemented by the necessary calculations. The conclusion of the thesis contains an evaluation of the whole project.
Device for automated testing of gas boiler controllers
Kuřímský, Lukáš ; Háze, Jiří (referee) ; Šteffan, Pavel (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with the design and implementation of a computer-controlled device for testing gas boiler control units, especially in the development phase. The reason for creating a test facility is the inadequacy of older test systems and the automation of existing testing. The test device in development consists of individual different cards. Each of the cards inserted into the motherboard performs its function in the system. Each of the cards has a special functionality which simulates the real conditions of the developed product. The basis of most cards is a microcontroller with a Cortex-M core, which communicates with the connected computer using the MODBUS protocol on the RS-485 communication interface. All cards on the bus are connected in parallel and behaves as a SLAVE, while the computer behaves as a MASTER and requests data or sends commands to the cards. The cards represent status switches (switching sensors), resistance and analog temperature sensors, PWM inputs and outputs (for simulation of feedback pumps or flow meters with pulse output). The cards also include a flame simulator, which reliably simulates the electrical properties of the flame and at the same time acts as a fan simulator. The input of the control unit is taken care of by the input card, which is intended for digital detection of the voltage presence in the range of 5 to 230 V DC and AC. Simultaneously, a card for connecting the power supply at zero voltage and disconnecting at zero current is created to supply the tested device with alternating voltage. A schematic diagram was designed or simulated for each card, then the function was verified and on this basis the whole card was created, including the microcontroller firmware. The most suitable solution and function of each card is carefully described and evaluated. All the requirements of the assignment within the work were met and the whole test equipment was manufactured and verified in four versions. In the future, the device is ready for the implementation of an automatic flame simulator and other improvements of individual module cards.
