The aim of this Master Thesis is to provide the reader with an annotated literary translation of the book Palabras Envenenadas written by the Spanish author Maite Carranza. The first part of the thesis presents in total of 6 translated chapters of the novella Palabras Envenenadas. The second part focuses on presenting the information about the author and the style of the book as well as the role of the original and the translatated text in the source and target culture context, the development of the translation analysis and translation methods while discussing the translation problems and their solutions. The aim of this Master Thesis is to present an annotated literary translation of two chapters of the novella Vstrecha from Maxim Osipov's book, Grech zhalovatsya. The first part of this Master Thesis contains a translation of selected chapters from the novella Vstrecha. The second part, a commentary on the translation, includes information about the author and his work, style classification, the role of translation, vocabulary, intertextuality, characterization of translation methods, strategy of solving translation problems and typology of translation shifts.

Strategies of the translation of French literary works titles into Czech

The aim of the diploma paper Strategy of translation of French literary title into Czech is to define strategy of their translation and determine their statistic relevance. The diploma paper consists of two basic parts - theoretical and practical The theoretical part describes the evolution of francophone literature and development of translation of French literary works into Czech. This part also explains the basic terms {--} title and translation and describes the origin, function and typology of literary title. The theoretical part is enclosed by introducing all different kinds and methods of translation. The practical part consists of bilingual index of original title and Czech translation of literary works translated between 1990 {--} 2006. Introductory part presents a short summary of translation of titles in general and is followed by outlining the strategy of translation based on different semantic diversities. This part is enclosed by graphics work of its statistic relevance.
Strategies of the translation of French film titles into Czech

The main task of this master's dissertation is to create an outline of various translation strategies of French film titles into Czech language and to identify their statistic significance. It contains films distributed into the Czech republic from 1990 to 2006. It is divided into two main parts. The first part deals with typology and translation of titles, development of French cinematography from it`s beginning to the present day, institutions promoting French films in France and in the Czech republic as well as the appreciation of French cinematography by Czech audience. The second part contains classification of films from the above mentioned era according to their title translation followed by an analysis of every single category, which leads to nine strategies and their percentage analysis.
