Wavelet analysis and enhancement of MR tomography and ultrasound images
Matoušek, Luděk ; Bartušek, Karel (referee) ; Smékal, Zdeněk (advisor)
Tomographic MR (Magnetic Resonance) and sonographic biosignal processing are important non-invasive diagnostic methods used in a medicine. A noise added into processed data by an amplifier of tomograph receiving part and by circuits of sonograph is resulting in a body organ diagnosis degradation. Image data are stored in a standardized DICOM medical file format. Methods using wavelet analysis for noise suppression in image data have been designed and their comparation with classical methods has been made in this work. The MATLAB was utilized for data processing and data rewriting back to the DICOM format.
Enhancement of bio-medical image signals
Gregor, Michal ; Šmirg, Ondřej (referee) ; Přinosil, Jiří (advisor)
When scanning biomedical images by magnetic resonance or ultrasound, unwanted elements in the form of noise are entered to the image. With help of various methods it is possible the noise from the image partially remove. There are many methods for noise reduction and every one works on a different principle. As a result of this the results of these methods are different and is necessary for them to be objectively assessed. There is use for the adjustment of the images wavelet transformation and some treshold techniques in the work. The quality of the resulting pictures is tested by the methods for objective quallity tests. Testing was done in the MATLAB program environment on the pictures from magnetic resonance and pictures from ultrasound.
Sonoghraphy study of hip joints of players of ice hockey.
Hybner, Tomáš ; Malá, Jitka (advisor) ; Žáková, Lenka (referee)
Title: Sonographic Study of hip joints in Ice Hockey Players Aims: This diploma thesis aims to find out whether the game of ice hockey affects the emergence of structural changes in the hip joint and whether the level of performance or the playing position of the ice hockey player affects these changes. Within the framework of the theoretical and research part of the work, the aim is to map the current findings between the relationship between the long-term ice hockey game and its effect on structural changes of the musculoskeletal system. The aim is to clarify the condition of the hip joints of professional czech ice hockey players together with players of the czech university ice hockey league and to subject this condition to control against a sample from the general population who do recreational sports. Methods: This thesis has the research character of an observational experiment. The theoretical basis of the work was developed based on available current Czech and foreign literary sources in English, German, and Czech. The research part of the work evaluates the width of the articular space of the hip joints using MSK sonography along with the functional and goniometric examination of the hip joints between two groups of ice hockey players with different performances and the general population...

CMP is an illness that is presently the third most common reason for death and the number with this diagnosis is rising. That is why is very important to be interested in the problematic about the assessment and about devices, which are the most reliable in getting information about relevance of the illness. Among these modern discovery methods that decide about next patient treatment belong MR, CT, and SONO.
