The aim of this thesis is based on historical and archival documents to describe social life of Sofie Podlipská. In the first part of this thesis is described the life of Sofie Podlipská. The further part is focused on her publications and translations. In the main part of the bachelor thesis I am concentrated on her work in associations and lecture activities in some representative woman institutions.
Biographical and literary connection of Božena Němcová in Polná

The bachelor thesis is focused on the life of Božena Němcova in the city of Polna. The aim of the bachelor thesis is to explain why the family of Božena Němcová moved to the city of Polna. A profile of region of Polna is added to the thesis. Moreover, the sociocultural life of the time of Bozena Nemcova is compared with sociocultural life of nowadays. The main aim of the thesis is the classification and explanation of biographical data. These data are accessible due to primary and secondary specialized literature. Evaluation of a private life of the family of Bozena Nemcova enlarges the thesis. The thesis also focuses on the persona of Michael Florian whose work is consisted of six pieces of xylographs. These xylographs are connected to the life of Bozena Nemcova. Interpretative analysis of literary texts is significant because of reflecting life of Bozena Nemcova in the city of Polna. A mention of a statue of Nemcova is a very topical issue thanks to revealing in June 2017. The whole thesis is a drawn up contribution to local literary-historical research.
The everyday life of publicly active women in second half of 19th century

The goal of the master thesis is to introduce a woman living in the second half of nineteenth century in her private sphere of influence. It deals with the everyday life of the female half of population belonging to the bourgeoisie and with the rhythm controlling her life. In particular chapters there are concluded parts of female world limited by their household. The thesis describes ordinary actions which made part of female's life, the most important are housekeeping and raising children. The attention is also focused on female's health and body care and on the methods of mental hygiene, especially ways of relaxing and spending free time. An ordinary life of female member of bourgeoisie in the second half of nineteenth century is reconstructed thanks to the primary sources, particularly the diaries and the private correspondence. The thesis is based on the research of the estates of many publicly active Czech women lay-by in the Literary Archive of the Museum of Czech Literature or published as the edition. Sofie Podlipská. Public Activities in the Light of Historical Documents

The master's thesis called Sofie Podlipská. Public Activities in the Light of Historical Documents makes a contribution to the history of Czech women's emancipation. It deals with Sofie Podlipská and her social, literary, and cultural activities. She is presented as an independent and creative woman who gained the respect of society as a writer and philanthropist and, at the same time, managed to combine motherhood with her career. Anthropological reflection of the life story of Sofie Podlipská in the context of her social activities is the substantial part of the thesis as well as the reflection of the key factors that helped shape her opinions, attitudes and viewpoints. The major part of the thesis is the description of these activities as reflected in historical resources that have survived in the Literary Archive of the Museum of Czech Literature and the Náprstek Museum of Asian, African and American Cultures. Research perspectives that open possibilities for future studies and the interpretation of existing archival documents of the Literary Archive of the Museum of Czech Literature and the Podještědské Museum in Český Dub are also significant parts of the thesis. Role of rags and other community events on life of czech woman in 19th century

The socio-historical and literary-historical context is delineated in the first part of the thesis. But the essence of the thesis is analysing of three novels and one book of advices written by four female writers of the second half of 19th centrury. The analysis is focused on construction of model female readers for which the books were written. The main theme is analysis of detail of ball or dance event in their influence on the life of teenage girls, the definition and description of how the marriage market works and its changing relationship with the woman's free choice of profession. Based on readings of other texts of the four female authors we followed the extent of projection of ideological orientations and attitudes of the writers into these their analyzed texts.
