Young people in the housing estates and their leisure time

My graduation thesis is concerned with spending of leisure time of today´s young people. It is focused on the life of young people in Znojmo and its surroundings. The target of my thesis is to bring near sociological conception of spare time any by means of evaluation exercises realize what young people are interested in. My graduation thesis is divided into two parts {--} theoretical and practical. Theoretical part includes a few thematic units. These units are related to adolescence, socialization and leisure time. Practical part is based on my own observation of pupils of the second grade of primary schools. In includes information about activities of spare time of pupils. To sum um I am trying to compare current results with theoretical part.

Globalization in sociology and anthropology

The article presents teaching of globalization at the department of Sociology at the Faculty of Social Sciences, Charles University. Study of globalization in the U.S. and possibilities of American teaching methods are discussed. The focus is on approaches to globalization in sociology, sociocultural anthropology and gender studies.

Czech-Slovak Sociology Days
The volume contains papers presented at the international Czecho-Slovak Sociology Days, a conference held 10-12 May 2004 in Prague and jointly organised by the Institute of Sociology of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic, the Institute of Sociology of the Slovak Academy of Sciences, and the Masaryk Society of Czech Sociology. The volume is focused on Czech and Slovak sociological research on public opinion, political sociology, local issues, family, housing, and methodology.
