Spiritual Needs of the Elderly Living in Residential Care Service Centres in Their Terminal Stage of Life
HASALÍKOVÁ, Zuzana
The master thesis deals with the spiritual needs of seniors in the terminal stage of life in residential social services. It presents the latest knowledge about the needs of seniors with emphasis on the needs of seriously ill seniors, and describes the role of social care in social service facilities as well as the spiritual care for the dying. Naturally, in the terminal stages of life we often encounter changes in needs or a shift in their prioritization. Therefore, it is possible to establish the spiritual needs whose provision require qualified and informed approaches.
Evaluation of marketing strategy applied in a specific social service institutions while taking conditions of the Act 108/2006 Coll. on social services into consideration and suggested strategy innovation.
VRÁBLIKOVÁ, Andrea
The objective of my thesis ``Evaluation of the marketing strategy of selected social services facilities operating under the Social Services Act No. 108/2006 Coll., and its proposed innovation{\crqq} was to ascertain whether the facilities had been making use of any marketing strategy, and if so, in what fields. I also investigated the impact of the new Social Services Act on operation of the facilities, and whether there were any differences in usage of strategies in dependence on the founders of the facilities. Marketing of social care has not had a long history in the Czech Republic; it is a segment which has not been experiencing sufficient attention. Marketing is mostly used by private providers of social services.
Implementation of service quality standards in the House for seniors.
SEDLÁKOVÁ, Šárka
The aim of my Bachelor´s work has been to find out the ways which were used for implementing new quality standards into social services, learn more about the opinions of the direct care workers on this implementation, and finally find the conditions for performing the standards in the Retirement Home in Humpolec. At the beginning there were two hypotheses stated: H1) The direct care staff of the Retirement Home suppose that the quality standards of social services will improve the care of their clients. H2) The quality standards of social services will improve the proficiency in direct care services. A method of quantitative research, interviewing, and the technique of guided interview was used for collecting information and validating the hypotheses. The technique is based on the set of questions in a given sequence with variants of answers. Chosen staff members of the Retirement Home in Humpolec were interviewed in July and August 2009. I chose 42 out of 52 total direct care staff. Thirty workers were engaged in the guided interviews, ten workers refused it and two workers were on sick leave at that time. The interviewees were also asked 7 semi-opened questions. My survey has shown that the quality standards of social services can improve the quality of social care services and protect the rights of the clients. Staff should find the way how to use these standards for the benefit of social services clients. It means, for example, that the workers will be professionally trained and will be acquainted with the new standards and their implementation to the care in the social services facilities. The findings of the Bachelor´s work may help implement the standards in the Retirement Home in Humpolec, eliminate imperfection in staff training, improve staff awareness of the quality standards and consequently result into higher proficiency of the direct care staff.
