Impacts on men's mental health when limiting their personal freedom- from the perspective of people working with this target group
KROPÍKOVÁ, Markéta
The diploma thesis deals with the impact on men's mental health when personal freedom is restricted from the point of view of people working with this target group. It is based on the results of the research "Psychological aspects of the consequences of criminal activity in convicted men serving a prison sentence" from 2019, conducted by Mgr. Marie Ouředníková. This work thus shows a view of life in custody or prison from the other side of the bars. It thus reveals the rules that prevail here among men who face the strict regime of the prison every day, but also the internal hierarchy itself. Such an environment subsequently negatively affects the mental health of the men who have to deal with it, in different ways. The diploma thesis reflects these impacts and thus gives a comprehensive view of the mentioned issue. It also has up-to-date research and statistics pointing to current events in such an environment, such as institutions restricting personal freedom. The diploma thesis is divided into a theoretical and a practical part. In the practical part, there is a description of the research methodology itself, followed by Ouředníková's reflected results with the opinions of people with professional experience in this practice.

Trhove Sviny Secondary School Pupils' Knowledge on Health and Social Aspects of Self-harm Issues
TOURKOVÁ, Lucie
The issue of self-harm belongs to socio pathological behaviour which often occurs at primary schools. I myself came across this behaviour while attending my primary school and I felt there was lack of information in the context of preventive programs and lectures. The aim of my work is to determine the pupils' level of awareness about health and social aspects of self-harm and then describe their existing knowledge on this issue. I would also like to find out whether the pupils in the ninth grade (14-15 years old) know more about this problem than the sixth graders (11-12 years old). A qualitative data collection in a form of a questionnaire was used to confirm or refute the hypothesis about the awareness of the primary school pupils in Trhové Sviny. This questionnaire method was specifically designed for pupils of 6th and 9th grade. My bachelor thesis clarifies the basic understanding of this issue from divergent definitions. It points out how it is neglected at primary schools and how preventive actions should be focused on mental and emotional health care. I find my thesis useful in a way that it helps both teachers and parents obtain the necessary information concerning this issue. Moreover, it may be helpful for those who would like to know the reasons and cause for self-injury and they have decided to put aside any prejudice associated with this problem. This thesis will certainly be useful even for the adolescent self-harmers themselves. Here they can find techniques which might help them avert the actual act of self-harming and advise them how to find the strength to solve their problems in the form of social services, crisis services or anonymous services.
Handling calls with suicidal topic by singl European emergency call number 112 in the South Bohemian and the Pilsen region
KUČEROVÁ, Renáta
The operators working the emergency line 112 receive, evaluate and handle information about the type of incidence while performing their job. They also receive situations where they handle emergency calls dealing with suicides. Talking to a person with suicidal intent is an extremely stressful and mentally challenging situation. Operators are well aware when handling a suicide call a human life hangs in the balance. They are the ones which can discourage the intention of suicide or lose the caller. Due to the seriousness of the matter it is really essential that the operators are professionally prepared to handle such calls and successfully deal with this challenging situation. The thesis deals with the handling of suicide calls on the single European emergency line 112 in the South Bohemia and Plzen regions. I established two goals for the diploma thesis. The first objective is to compare the professional preparation of the emergency line 112 operators for handling suicide calls in the South Bohemia and Plzen regions. The second is to create a proposal for increasing the training preparedness of the emergency line 112 operators for dealing with suicide calls. The thesis is divided into a theoretical and practical part. The theoretic part covers the basic concepts of the topic of suicide. In general the reader becomes familiar with the basic concepts, such as forms, motives, causes, developmental stages, methods or risk factors for suicidal tendencies, past and present social attitudes and other facts are described. Further the issue of crisis intervention is clarified from the point of view of the emergency call 112 centers and their operators. The theoretical part of the thesis relies on the knowledge based on the analysis, synthesis and research from available sources dealing with this issue. Printed books, magazines, journals, laws, statutory regulations and methodology of the Czech Republic Fire and Rescue Service, Fighting rule of Fire protection units, Catalog File of Type Activities and electronic sources were used as references. To achieve the purpose and obtain answers to the research question, the qualitative methodology of research was used in the thesis. In both regions, on the basis of a questionnaire survey, readiness of the emergency number 112 operators to handle calls from individuals contemplating suicide was evaluated and the research question answered. Response to the research question proved that professional preparedness of the operators of emergency number 112 for handling calls related to suicide requires the operators possess additional professional knowledge and skills. Based on the data from the questionnaire survey and a study of the professional literature, design methodology is developed to enhance professional preparation service emergency number 112 suicide calls. The results from the questionnaire survey indicated that not all the operators demonstrated the same knowledge level and skills and that regularly all of them do not go through the same training on the theme of suicide. Therefore in design methodology, training divided by each category is incorporated. For each category, a schedule, structure and content of the training is elaborated and a suitable trainer is recommended. In the discussion and conclusion of this thesis there are further useful recommendations listed which relate to the research topic, however they are not part of the above mentioned methodology.

Has altruism in decision making on the life-shortening action the same relative weight as other factors?
Procházka, Michal ; Šťastný, Daniel (advisor) ; Chytilová, Helena (referee)
When person decides on life-shortening action he compares value of current and future life with costs and benefits of this action that can be simply divided into four categories, psychological, financial, religious and altruistic. The main issue of the paper is what is the role of altruism in decision making. Decision making model used in this article is based on the model of Becker and Posner, but is modified to include all preventive and risk factors, respectively, costs and revenues. This model is interpreted for types of life-shortenitng actions, which are then compared with each other. From this comparison it follows that the altruism has in decision making rather greater relative weight.

THE CONTRIBUTION TO STUDY AND PREVENTION OF EPHEBIC SUICIDIES.
TOMANOVÁ, Lucie
The theme of my graduation theses is ?The contribution to study and prevention of ephebic suicides?. More and more attention has been payed to problems of suicide behavior nowadays. But the prevention of suicide behavior has not been properly described yet and open to the public especially to teachers and pedagogical workers. It is necessary to focuse on a group of teenagers because there are more suicide attempts among these young people recently. Psychologists and doctors as well as teachers and pedagogical workers should pay more attention to these problems. Good knowledge of these problems and a readiness to help could often prevent suicide attempts. In the first / theoretical part I will describe problems of suicide behavior with a view to a group of teenagers. Basic terms will be explained, I will describe kinds of suicides, the influence of age, gender, seasons and week days on comitting suicides. I will define a suicide with a view to medical, psychological and sociological aspects. At the end of this part I will write about myths and facts concerning suicides and about the prevention of suicide behavior. In the second / practical part I will use a comparative method to confront case studies of teenagers who tried to commit suicide. I will search for especially pedagogical aspects and marks leading to the determination of abnormal behaviour to be able to prevent teenagers from comitting suicides.
