Quality of Life of People with Idiopathic Scoliosis after Surgical Treatment in the Czech Republic

Title: Quality of Life of People with Idiopathic Scoliosis after Surgical Treatment in the Czech Republic Objectives: The aim of the research part of the thesis was to evaluate the quality of life of individuals after surgery for idiopathic scoliosis in the Czech Republic on the basis of a questionnaire survey. Within the framework of the research, individuals with IS who had undergone surgical treatment of IS were contacted, but at the same time individuals with IS who had not undergone scoliosis surgery were contacted. Methods: The study population included individuals diagnosed with idiopathic scoliosis in the age range of 18-60 years. Another criterion for inclusion in the study was a minimum of two years after IS surgery. Two questionnaires were used to assess quality of life in these two groups of scoliotic patients with treatment different undergone: the Short Form 36 and the Scoliosis Research Society 22, which were distributed to individuals with IS for approximately eight months. Analysis of the obtained data and statistical evaluation of the results was performed using MS Excel software.
