Stone mastic asphalts with recycled materials - bituminous binders properties
Dzurková, Veronika ; Coufalíková, Iva (referee) ; Hýzl, Petr (advisor)
The bachelor thesis is focused on the issue of adding R-material to stone mastic asphalt mixtures (SMA). The material was obtained from a plant that put the mixture in the test section on the road II/227. The theoretical part describes the problems of recycling of asphalt roads, bituminal binder theory and problems associated with the addition of R-material to hot asphalt mixtures. Bituminal binders from mixtures with different percentages of R-material were extracted in the practical part. Empirical and functional tests were performed on these binders. The aim of the thesis is to determine the influence of the presence of R-material on SMA asphalt mixture in terms of properties of asphalt binder.
Usage of reclaimed asphalt pavement in stone mastic asphalt
Coufalíková, Iva ; Katarína, Bačová (referee) ; Fišer,, Jiří (referee) ; Hýzl, Petr (advisor)
The dissertation deals with the possibilities of adding recycled asphalt pavement (RAP) to the stone mastic asphalt (SMA), which is increasingly being promoted due to its good resistance to permanent deformations and high traffic load. Thanks to the use of high-quality input materials in production, this is a valuable material source. The theoretical part describes composition of SMA mixture and problems of pavement recycling. The practical part deals with SMA 11S laboratory designs with RAP ratio of 0 to 50%. Based on these suggestions, a trial section with 17 variants was placed, which varied with the content and quality of the RAP and the used additives. All variants have been subjected to functional testing not only on mixtures but also on recovered binders. The results obtained during the dissertation were used to build a certified methodology named "Methodology of application RAP to Stone Mastic Asphalt." In conclusion, the results of the dissertation are summarized.
Smart materials for actuators
Brehovský, Patrik ; Hadaš, Zdeněk (referee) ; Huzlík, Rostislav (advisor)
The bachelor’s thesis “Smart materials for actuators” deals with appropriate use materials, named smart, in actuators. At the beginning, the thesis completes requests about actuators, which we need to set before making project. Next part is about the research of smart materials suitable used in actuators. The thesis continues with description of few more interesting smart materials. Thesis is ended with summary, which material is suitable to use for few selected projects and why.
Design of an Automated Trading System Based on Trend Indicators and Oscillators
Kucbel, Jozef ; Sýkora, Vladimír (referee) ; Budík, Jan (advisor)
The thesis is concerned with the design and optimization of a trading strategy on currency markets in order to maximize profit on the EURUSD currency pair. The strategy is based on standard technical indicators and is tested in demo account environment. The thesis describes the whole development from initial design to an optimized version of the draft.
Memory Materials
Josiek, Robert ; Šesták, Petr (referee) ; Molliková, Eva (advisor)
Currently, shape memory materials are very popular, especially intermetallic compounds NiTi. This alloy is very stable and corrosion resistant, but its production is very difficult because of the high reactivity of titanium. Shape memory effect in this material is dependent on many parameters, such as chemical composition or heat treatment. This bachelor’s thesis explains one-way and two-way memory effect. Another one phenomenon associated with the martensitic transformation, superelasticity, is mentioned, too. The applications of these materials are described in separate chapter of this bachelor’s thesis.
Untraditional Actuators Sma Type -Modeling Of Hysteresis
Vašina, Michal
The shape memory materials are known since first half of the twentieth century. The example of these materials could be a Shape Memory Alloys (SMA). Because of their attributes, the engineers usually call them a „smart materials“. The SMA can be used in many static or dynamic applications for example in problem of actuators. Thanks to the SMA materials sophistication and associated shape memory effect, there are some issues (hysteresis, degradation etc.), which can complicate their prospective usage. The attributes of SMA classified these actuators to the category of non-linear system with hysteresis. This article deals with the SMA use and potential hysteresis modeling approaches. Several model examples are discussed.
