Picture Quality Analysis in Digital Television Systems
Bednarz, Robin ; Slanina, Martin (referee) ; Kratochvíl, Tomáš (advisor)
Diploma thesis deals with the analysis of quality in digital television systems and contains theoretical description of subjective and objective assessment of quality picture methods. The thesis contains short-term and long-term analysis of quality picture of terrestrial television DVB-T. Measurements and experimentations were carried out with the help of Rohde&Schwarz DVQ analyzer of picture quality and software MPEG-2 Quality Monitor and MPEG-2 Elementary stream analyzer.
Subjective quality evaluation of video sequences
Krmela, Tomáš ; Fliegel, Karel (referee) ; Polák, Ladislav (advisor)
This master´s work is focused on the comparison of subjective assessment of the quality of video sequences. In this study, data are obtained by hardware and sofware techniques and they are compared. In the introduction, methods of video compressions are described. The main part of this work deals wtih the exploring of different methods of subjective assessment of the quality of video sequences. Finally, obtained results from different methods, are evaluated and discussed.
Cytogenetic methods in genotoxicology
Bártů, Linda ; Daňková, Pavlína (advisor) ; Langová, Martina (referee)
We are constantly exposed to a variety of factors which may be a cause of DNA mutations. The influence of mutagens of physical, chemical and biological origin is studied by genotoxicology. Ionic radiation is among the most common physical mutagens, benzene, vinylchloride or some drugs represent the chemical mutagens, while some viruses and may act as biological mutagens. The repair mechanisms of double strand breaks can be divided into those that require HRR-homologous sequences and those that may use of microhomologies consisting of a short DNA sequence (NHEJ). Both mechanisms can lead to aberrations of chromosomes, if they are not precise. Acquired chromosomal aberrations include translocation, common in cancer cells; deletion; or the production of acentric fragments, dicentrics and rings. Chromatid aberrations includes chromatid breaks and chromatide exchanges. There are various methods for detecting/examining such mutations and these can be categorised according to the phases of the cell cycle. The basic method is clasic Giemsa stain which reveals the most of aberrations except translocations and inversions and numeric abnormalities in metaphasic cells. Another way of testing mutagenicity is determining the rate of sister chromatide exchange; or the so called micronucleus test used to measure...

The Use of Electrochemical Stripping Methods for Lead and Cadmium Speciation in Soil Solutions
Šestáková, Ivana ; Jaklová Dytrtová, J. ; Jakl, M. ; Navrátil, Tomáš ; Fojta, Miroslav
Soil solution is an aqueous phase of soil which is affected by plant root systems. The soil solution contains nutrients, organic and inorganic soil substances and also exudates – substances released by plant roots (e.g. low molecular weight organic acids). For the bioaccumulation (transport from soil into plants) the free metal ions and labile complexes contents (usually in trace amounts) in soil solution are important. That is why the electrochemical methods using working electrode preconcentration step, i.e. differential pulse anodic stripping voltammetry, anodic stripping square-wave voltammetry and stripping chronopotentiometry with constant current, are applicable. Mentioned methods combined with the hanging mercury drop electrode were tested for the cadmium and lead speciation possibilities in model and also real soil solutions.
