Home health services - Bobrová, technological stage of roofing
Malý, Martin ; Hanzelková, Martina (referee) ; Šlanhof, Jiří (advisor)
The bachelor thesis deals with structural and technological solution to roofing of the house health services in Bobrové, in the Highlands. Addresses the implementation of a truss structure of a gable roof and a subsequent cladding. The main content of the work formed the technical report, the construction situation, the budget with the statement of assessment, technological regulation, construction site equipment, timetable, design of mechanical assembly, inspection and test plan and work safety.
Detection of Interrupted Friction Ridges of a Fingerprint and Their Reconstruction
Cejpek, Tomáš ; Dvořák, Radim (referee) ; Stružka, Jaroslav (advisor)
This Bachelor thesis describes creating application with graphical user interface for editing a fingerprint ridges. They are interrupted due to dry fingerprint. The proposed algorithm uses Gabor filter for editing fingerprint ridges. He is implemented in C++ and uses a library aimed at work with images OpenCV and Qt application for creating graphical user interface. The thesis is also about testing and evaluating the results of a proposed algorithm for editing fingerprint ridges.
Slot antenna
Dvořák, Petr ; Horák, Jiří (referee) ; Láčík, Jaroslav (advisor)
This thesis discusses Slot antennas that are based in gap waveguide technology, which allows them to work with high frequency signals. It contains theoretical findings about antennas and waveguides, which are later used in the design. The practical section of this thesis concentrates on designing a specific gap waveguide for 10 and 24 GHz frequencies, starting with modeling and parameter optimalization. This gap waveguide is then used as a base for slot antenna design. The final antenna is designed for frequency of 10 GHz, for both linear and right-handed circular polarizations. With right-handed circular polarization, the achieved band was approximately 1.41 GHz, while the gain was 7,6 dB.
Nowcasting the Real GDP Growth of the European Economies based on Machine Learning
Baylan, Su Hazal ; Kočenda, Evžen (advisor) ; Baruník, Jozef (referee)
This thesis analyzes the nowcasting of quarterly GDP growth for nine European economies using a dynamic factor model and four different machine learning models. These machine learning models are as follows: Ridge, Lasso, Elastic Net, and Random Forest. The data includes ten hard and fifteen soft indicators for each country in order to calculate GDP for each nowcasting iteration for pre-covid and covid periods. For machine learning, models are fed with the extracted factors that are obtained from the dynamic factor model, and for all nowcasting models expanding window approach is selected to estimate nowcasting iterations. The empirical finding indicates that overall machine learning models provide better forecasting accuracy compared to dynamic factor models and benchmark models for more stable periods, such as the period before Covid-19. On the other hand, for more volatile periods where the uncertainties are higher in economies, the dynamic factor model outperforms machine learning models in order to nowcast GDP growth. In addition to this, Random Forest is able to outperform all the alternative models for small economies such as Slovenia and Portugal for stable periods.
