Bonding, the method for increasing DSL data rate
Kratochvil, Tomáš ; Benešl, Lukáš (referee) ; Šilhavý, Pavel (advisor)
This bachelor thesis focuses on characteristics of DSL bonding technology. The basic information about DSL technologies is described at the start of theoretical part of thesis. VDSL2 technology is described more thorougfully in comparision with other DSL technologies, because in this thesis DSL bonding is applied on VDSL2 technology. Next chapter of theoretical part of thesis describes principe of DSL bonding technology. Final chapters of theoretical part of thesis describes recommendations for testing of network characteristics. Specifically these network testing recommendations are described: RFC 2544, RFC 6349 and Y 1564. The results of performed tests are presented in practical part of thesis. Tested DSL technologies are compared based on results of performed tests at the end of practical part of thesis.
Testing the transmission parameters of internet connection
Bartoš, Patrik ; Sikora, Marek (referee) ; Zeman, Václav (advisor)
This thesis deals with methodology for measuring transmission parameters of internet connection. The aim of the thesis is to cover and compare known methods used for testing. Based on the research then design and realize an application that will provide those kind of measurements.
Apache JMeter Plugin to Analyze of Data Network Parameters
Hrdý, Martin ; Člupek, Vlastimil (referee) ; Číka, Petr (advisor)
Bachelor thesis discusses opportunites for utilization of the Apache JMeter testing tool to creating plug-in, which implements network parameters measuring. The goal of thesis is to design and implement a plug-in, which will handle data network transmission parameters measuring in accordance with appropriate recommendations. The first part describes the iPerf3 tool and the Apache JMeter testing tool. The next section deals with network transmission parameters recommendations. The practical part describes design, implementation and testing of created plug-in. Finally, the results of measurements are processed and clarified.
VDSL2 vplus and G.fast technologies and their testing
Vehera, Vladyslav ; Číž, Radim (referee) ; Šilhavý, Pavel (advisor)
This semester work focuses on the basic characteristics of the VDSl2 and G.fast technologies that allow to transfer data using old telephone lines. The theoretical part of the work describes the main parameters of all currently known profiles for VDSL and G.fast. There is also a description of DMT modulation, used in both types of DSL connections. Moreover, the theoretical part presents a vectoring technique that helps to increase the data transfer rate using a twisted pair. The work also provides methods for testing networks using the recommendations of RFC 2455, ITU-T Y.1564 and RFC6349. The practical part of this thesis contains all conducted tests and measuring, which were described in detail. The results od these tests were presented in the format of graphs and tables.
Smart Metering system
Gregor, Filip ; Pokorný, Jiří (referee) ; Mlýnek, Petr (advisor)
The thesis deals with a PLC technology. In the theoretical part a principle of PLC functionality and its advantages and disadvantages were described. In the experimental part methodology of point-to-point testing with BPL modems was designed. In addition extensive measurement according to point-to-point methodology for topology with and without repeater in laboratory was realized. Impact of repeater on transmission parameters was tested according to RCF 2544, RFC 6349 recommendation and according to methodology of TCP Throughput with the aid of Net Blazer testers and iPerf tool. The results shows that topology with repeater decreases throughput approximately 50 % and increases Round trip time (RTT) more than twice compared to topology without repeater. In the last part a laboratory task with Smart Metering system and BPL modems was designed.
