Habitatové preference, stanovištní dynamika a management hmyzu vázaného na staré stromy
PLÁTEK, Michal
The thesis presents studies on habitat preferences of beetles associated with senescent, open-grown trees and on dynamics and management of saproxylic habitats. It presents a brief insight into the current issues in the conservation of insects dependent on old trees. It presents the patterns of exploitation by a veteran tree specialist within old open-grown trees and the local patterns of tree exploitation by the same species at sites with different characteristics. Further, it presents a study of the effect of a prunning technique on formation of deadwood microhabitats, and also the importance of active interventions in closed-canopy forests for the communities in temperate lowland woodlands.

Výsadby sadebního materiálu v zimním období
Šarina, Michal
This thesis deals with the issues of planting in two different months of the same year. Winter planting (7.-8. 2. 2018) and spring planting (9. 4. 2018) of Fagus sylvatica L. and Quercus robur L. seedlings. Both plantings were made in forests of the company Lesy ČR s.p. in district Šilheřovice. Variants with the root system covered and not covered were planted for both of the plant species. The thesis also describes both plant species and the ways of planting of both variants of planting material. It also describes the problems of forest replenishment and it’s difficulties during the environmental changes. The data that were gathered in terrain were processed with use of statistical method T-test (Student’s test). Grow lengths of the above ground parts were measured, length and width of leaves, also the width of the root collar. All were measured on the randomly taken 100 plants for each variant. On base of this information the thesis concludes which of the variants of root coverage and year period is best for planting in this district. It was discover that for this locality and in this year the planting was most successful for Quercus robur in winter time and in root covered variant. For Fagus sylvatica the best planting time was spring and also the root covered variant.

Strom jako biotop
Heinrich, Michal
The aim of this work is to clarify and change the view of the organism, which is mostly perceived only as a single functional unit, and this organism is a tree. The purpose is to show that a tree is a kind of microcosm of its own, to which are not only bound, but directly crucially dependent and reliant many species of animals and plants. This theme was elaborated in two planes. First, I focused on the general relationship between trees and their surroundings at all. Then I chose one representative trees - oak (Quercus), on which are shown already concrete cases of dependency, needs and interaction. Analysis and the findings clearly demonstrate that there are very strong links between the trees, their surroundings and other life forms. The main finding is that targeted and also unconscious damaging of trees violates harmony that has far-reaching consequences, often manifested in its seriousness in a very long time.
