Schizophrenia: Impact on quality of life

Veronika Konopásková Schizophrenia: Impact on quality of life Annotation The goal of the thesis is to understand the impact of schizophrenia on quality of life of the patient. Schizophrenia is defined and its most common forms and symptoms are presented. I describe the origin, course and prognosis of the disease. I focus on the concept of relapse and suicide risk in patients with schizophrenia. Treatise on the treatment is divided into psychosocial and biological methods. I deal with the concept of Quality of life in general and in connection with schizophrenia. I discuss the problem of stigmatization of the mentally ill patients. The example of three selected organizations (Baobab, ESET-HELP, DPS "Ondřejov") illustrates the wide range of psychosocial rehabilitation programs offered for mentally ill. To capture authentically all aspects of life with schizophrenia, I conducted three in-depth interviews with persons diagnosed with schizophrenia. The Specifics Of Social Work With People With Mental Illness In The Context Of Supported Employment

In my thesis I am going to focus on one of the areas of community care for people with mental illness and thus on the area of employment. The main focus of the thesis is on a description of current situation in the provision of the employment support for people with mental illness. The focus is also on the formulation of the specifics of the Employment Support Program for people with mental illness. Another part of my thesis contains empirical investigations focusing on the sustainability and the perspective of the Employment Support Program for people with mental illness. The view of the employees in rehabilitation center on psycho-social rehabilitation

This thesis deals with the view of workers of rehabilitation Center of psychosocial rehabilitation of people with mental ilness . In he theoretical part of thesis are summarized the findings about psychotic mental illness, its symptoms and treatment. Here also theoretical knowledge about psychosocial rehabilitation of people with this type of disease are sumarized. In the empirical part we will find description of metodologic procedures and principles for research developing. Therefore, the principles for realization of qualitative research, description of grounded theory and its partial utilization in this thesis work. Further method of data collection, mainly description in depth semistructured interwievis described here. Six respondents attended this research three women and three men (n =6 ) -members of the rehabilitation center Fokus Labe, which has headquarters in Ústí nad Labem. In the final part of the thesis work results of reaserch are sumarized and they are compared with prepared reform of psychiatric care.
