Economic analysis of company Pivovary Staropramen a.s.

The aim of the Master's thesis is to perform an economic analysis of company Pivovary Staropramen a.s. for the period 2005 - 2010. The main purpose of the economic analysis will assess the economic and financial situation of company, measuring its performance and compared with the competition on the Czech beer market. The Master's thesis is divided into theoretical and practical parts. The theoretical part defines methodological basis of methods that will be applied in the practical part. Financial performance is evaluated by means of financial analysis; market position will enable to evaluate the inter-company comparisons. The application of solvent and bankruptcy models to evaluate the financial health of the company. The Master's thesis contains also an analysis of the market and competition, which analyzes the development of the Czech brewing industry and also defines the biggest competitors for Pivovary Staropramen a.s. The conclusion is devoted to the evaluation results off all analyzes and recommendations for possible changes in management and business strategy.

In this Bachelor thesis there is financial analysis of Pivovary Staropramen a.s. for the years 2004 to 2009. In the first part of this work we can find theoretical explanation of methods and procedures which are used in this work. In the second part of this work this theroetical knowledge is applied to Pivovary Staropramen a.s.. In this work there is analysis of absolute indicators, financial ratios, net working capital, there is analysis of balance rules and there is also made prediction of financial straits, calculation of EVA and decomposition of ROA. Some indicators are compared to the industry. In conclusion there are results of financial analysis.

The bachelor thesis is focused on financial analysis of Pivovary Staropramen a.s. to assess the financial situation of the company. The tesis consists of two parts, theoretical and practical. The theoretical part deals with the explanation of the methods. The practical part is dedicated to processing and interpreting the results of activities of the enterprise for the years 2004 -- 2008.
