Monitoring the properties of phase change materials (PCMs) over time
Šikutová, Eva ; Doležalová Weissmannová, Helena (referee) ; Řezáčová, Veronika (advisor)
The bachelor's thesis deals with monitoring the properties of phase change materials (PCMs, Phase Change Materials) over time. The theoretical block is divided into two parts. The first part focuses on the characteristics of these materials, their preparation and use in various industries. The second part presents methods for measuring the properties of PCMs samples. In the experimental part of this work, PCMs with a known defined history were analyzed by the method of differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and the obtained results were then processed and evaluated.
Optimization algorithms for inverse heat exchange problems
Ibehej, David ; Dobrovský, Ladislav (referee) ; Kůdela, Jakub (advisor)
This thesis addresses the issue of inverse heat transfer and its solution through optimization. The study focuses on the application of various evolutionary algorithms and their combinations, which are implemented and used to solve the selected problem. In the practical part, models approximating the curve of the material’s effective thermal capacity are designed, and these models are optimized using evolutionary algorithms with the aim of minimizing the difference between simulated and experimental data. Finally, the resulting models and algorithms are compared in terms of their accuracy and efficiency.
Accumulation of thermal energy using phase change materials
Mareček, Tomáš ; Foral, Štěpán (referee) ; Radil, Lukáš (advisor)
This thesis aims to study and observe an accumulation of thermal energy by phase change materials. First, it presents suitable materials for the accumulation of thermal energy and classifies them into three main groups - eutectics, inorganic substances and organic substances. The next part describes current available phase change materials and some methods of thermal analysis. There is a representative protocol for measuring selected samples at the end of the thesis.
