Possibilities of evaluating the effect of rehabilitation aimed at improving postural stability in adults.
Heřmanská, Dagmar ; Stříbrný, Martin (advisor) ; Kolář, Jáchym (referee)
The paper deals with the comparison of different options for assessing the effect of physiotherapy aimed mainly at improving postural stability in adult patients. The theoretical part of the bachelor thesis defines postural stability, its optimal function in physiological situations and the most common pathologies. The clinical consequences of postural stability disorders and their treatment options are discussed. The most frequent consequence of insufficient postural stability is chronic low back pain (in the English literature "LBP"). The knowledge about the possibilities of clinical evaluation of the effect of physiotherapy is discussed. It is a subjective assessment by the patient, using PROM questionnaires (Patient- reported Outcome Measures) and DNS manual. Furthermore, the possibilities of objective assessment-dynamometry (DNS Brace device), Moiré and Pedoscan are described. The paper describes the principle of these devices and evaluates their advantages and disadvantages in clinical practice. The practical part contains case reports of two patients with chronic LBP. The patients are evaluated with the above mentioned procedures before and after a series of six hourly therapies with weekly frequency. The therapy was performed at the Pavel Kolar Center for Movement Medicine under the...
The effect of the cencept of DNS in patients with chronic vertebrogenic syndrome of lumbar spire
Šulová, Eva ; Kobesová, Alena (advisor) ; Valouchová, Petra (referee)
The main aim of the presented diploma thesis was to record objective and subjective changes after therapy with DNS concept in a group of 13 people with LBP. Moiré projection topography was used to record postural changes after 5.5 week therapeutic intervention. It was not clear, whether DNS exercise would help them to achieve visible postural changes and whether this technique is able to record these changes, which would mean that it is a suitable option for objectivisation of therapies focusing on correction of stabilisation and postural functions. Pedoscan was used for further objectivisation of the effect of DNS concept. The chosen correlate of the mentioned objective evaluation was Oswestry disability index, evaluating limitations of common everyday activities resulting from pain in the lower back, and the Numeric pain scale. Patients underwent 5 hour-long physiotherapeutic lessons, the recommended frequency of exercises in the household environment was 3-4 times per day. The probands exercised with the use of DNS concept according to the individual examination findings, especially in the area of the integrated spine stabilisation system. The data were statistically elaborated by Wilcoxon Signed-Rand test, which a non-parametric variant of the pair T-test. It is obvious from the results that...

Moiré and Pedoscan dynamic examinations of patients with scoliosis
Klímová, Michaela ; Valouchová, Petra (advisor) ; Dyrhonová, Olga (referee)
Scoliosis is the most common deformity of the spine affecting from 3 to 6% of human population. The thesis "Moiré and Pedoscan dynamic examinations of patients with scoliosis" summarizes the findings of kinesiology of the spine, pelvis and hip joints and ontogenesis of axial organ straightening. It also deals with the issue of idiopathic scoliosis, its incidence, etiology, classification, diagnosis, treatment options and applied physiotherapy methods. The paper emphasizes the influence of physiotherapy that forms an integral part of medical treatment. A great part of the thesis is devoted to the rasterstereographic and pedobarographic examination. The main purpose of this thesis was to detect and evaluate parameters assessing posture and movement of patients suffering from scoliosis and compare them with a control group. For this purpose, a pedobarographic system Diers pedoscan was used, which detected the distribution of compressive forces on the feet when walking and standing. It was also used a rasterstereographic system Diers formetric III 4D, which allowed for capturing photogrammetric recording of the spine and pelvis using a video-rasterstereography based on the Moiré topography. The study was carried out with a group of 22 females with idiopathic scoliosis up to 40ř according to Cobb aged...
