Web User Interface for Pass Password Manager

The goal of the thesis is implementation of password manager with support of version control trough git and encryption using OpenPGP.js library. Work addresses suitable structure of storing passwords in memory, Promise library usage, conversion to and from Base64, passwords security, HTTPS requests and git service usage. It also focuses on tools and technologies used troughout application development. Application allows it's use both on server and browser.

The goal is to describe and compare password management utilities and applications for individuals or small teams. Examples of such applications are KeePass, Password Safe, CodeWallet Pro and eWallet. On-line password managers like LastPass or RoboForm are another group of applications. Support for synchronization, sharing passwords in a team or protection against keyloggers (when filling in automatically) may also be included in the criteria.

Online Password Manager

The objective of this thesis is to show on which principles a modern password manager works. The introductory theoretical part describes cryptographic algorithms and evaluates whether they are suitable for use in current applications. At the same time it presents methods how to create a password which is strong and also easily remembered. The second part explains the key characteristics of a password manager. The last chapter illustrates the architecture of online password storage and the way of communicating with the password manager. Measures that have to be taken in order to make such storage secure are also described here.
