Mechanical properties of Cr-DLC layers prepared by hybrid laser technology
Písařík, Petr ; Jelínek, Miroslav ; Remsa, J. ; Tolde, Z.
Diamond like carbon (DLC) layers have excellent biological properties for use in medicine for coating implants, but poor adhesion to biomedical alloys (titanium alloys, chromium alloys and stainless steel). The adhesion can be improved by doping the DLC layer by chromium, as described in this article. Chromium doped diamond like carbon layers (Cr DLC) were deposited by hybrid deposition system using KrF excimer laser (deposition diamond like carbon - graphite target) and\nmagnetron sputtering (deposition chromium - chromium target). Carbon and chromium contents were determined by wavelength dispersive X-ray spectroscopy.\n

RS-232 Serial Data Transmitter
Paul, Martin ; Kubíček, Michal (referee) ; Kolouch, Jaromír (advisor)
The aim of my bachelor thesis is to create an RS-232 transmitter in the Xilinx ISE WebPACK development system with the possibility to set the details of transmitted data by input signals. It is necessary to explore demands of the designed transmitter in terms of consumption of the structural components in the PLD network. The function test of the project was done by the help of development kit.

Digital signal of pressure senzors processing using CPLD
Zátura, Michal ; Fedra, Zbyněk (referee) ; Kováč, Michal (advisor)
The goal of this bachelor’s thesis is to design electronic part of the scanning system used to measure altitude. The electronic part is designed as module connected to the development platform XC2-XL. This module is realized like PCB. The principles of the signal processing of the signal from the pressure sensor MPXH6250, particular blocks of the designed module and principle of the barometrical altitude measuring are also described in this thesis. Thesis briefly informs about designing environment Xilinx ISE, VHDL language, the principle and the application of the pressure sensors, the structure of the programmable logic device CPLD and FPGA, the development platforms XC2-XL, the Xilinx Spartan-3 Starter Kit, the programmable logic devices CPLD Coolrunner-II XC2C256 and Spartan-3 XC3S200 FPGA used on the development platforms. The very important part is to design algorithm for processing the logarithm in the digital logic and it´s implementation in VHDL language.

Study of bio-compatible materials using FTIR spectroscopy
Zezulová, M. ; Jelínek, Miroslav
Infrared (IR) spectroscopy is used for the measurement of absorption spectra of analyzed material in IR wavelength region. We studied TiO2 layers prepared by PLD (Pulsed Laser Deposition) method. We measured IR spectra in region 600-100 cm-1 and 4000-600 cm-1. During the measurement of samples with different accessories we found strong IR spectra in region 600-100 cm-1 on the samples exhibited brookite phase.

Study of biocompatible layers TiO.sub.2./sub./Si using FTIR spectroscopy
Zezulová, M. ; Remsa, Jan ; Jelínek, M.
There has been a great interest in research regarding titanium dioxide, especially in form of thin layers. One of the methods used to characterize this material is Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR). In this paper we report FTIR measurement results of TiO2 layers prepared by Pulsed Laser Deposition method. The layers were created on silicon (111) substrates (1x1 cm). FTIR spectrometer is based on absorption of infrared radiation and the interference process is implemented instead of classical dispersion method. This kind of spectrometer requires mathematical method of Fourier transform to gain classical spectral image. To see composition and crystalline structure the spectral region is frequently set to 600-100 cm-1. Around 50 samples were measured. Most samples were measured from different angles of incidence and with different setup (accessory). We were able to confirm different crystalline structure (anatase, rutile, and brookite)

Intermetallic thin layers deposited by laser method
Jelínek, Miroslav ; Bulíř, Jiří ; Mróz, W. ; Mularczyk-Oliwa, M. ; Prokopiuk, A. ; Bojar, Z. ; Józwiak, S. ; Zasada, D. ; Major, B.
Intermetallic alloys, e.g.: FeAl and Ni.sub.3Al, are commonly regarded as a perspective construction materials for elements working in the extreme conditions. They are often used as the protective coatings on the classical alloys. The pulsed laser deposition method was proposed as the method of creation of the thin intermetallic layers.
