This thesis was made at the Institute of viticulture and enology at the Faculty of Horticulture Mendel University in the years 2014/2015. This work is focused on mapping the current situation of cultivated varieties of grapes with a focus on Piwi varieties in selected European countries. The work also formed information on the history of breeding these varieties in our country and the world. The work describes the current stretch of vineyards in the individual countries and also most commonly grown varieties in these countries. Furthermore, the work focuses on the characterization of selected cultivars and compilation of the final table, which allows the selection of different varieties for planting.

The diploma thesis “Evaluation of growth and physiological characteristics and the quality of grapes of new PIWI grape varieties” contains information on qualitative parameters of the grapes in the must stage. A practical experiment on PIWI varieties ofErilon, Hibernal, Malverina, Mery, MI-4-120, MI-8-22, Rinot, Savilon and Vesna was used in the thesis and recommendationsfor agrotechnical practices related to the varieties and reaching the required qualitative parameters of the grapes were formulated.

Influence of rootstock variety on nutrient intake and quality of selected PIWI variety The thesis looks into a research of the rootstocks and their influence on the minerals in various phenophases at two PIWI varieties (Hibernal and Cerason). Furthermore it deals with the influence of the rootstocks on the qualitative parameters (sugar content, acids, assimilable nitrogen). The research was implement on an experiment in the school vineyard of Mendel University, Faculty of Horticulture in Lednice. There is a suitable advice to the various rootstocks in a conclusion.

This thesis focuses on the possibility of environmental protection of PIWI vine varieties against fungal diseases. The theoretical part of the thesis summarizes information about organic viticulture, vine resistance against fungal diseases, explains the importance of PIWI varieties and describes the most important fungal diseases of vine. In the experimental part, an experiment using ecological preparations against fungal diseases is described. The effectiveness of these formulations and the content of grapevine elements is evaluated here. Furthermore, qualitative parameters of grapes and aromatic substances in wine are analyzed and statistically processed.

The theoretical part of this thesis describes three different types of vinegrape productions in the Czech Republic – the integrated system, organic production and biodynamic way of vinegrape production. It describes the resistence and its mechanisms in the vine. A substantial part of the paper is focused on the fungal disease protection in organic grapevine production and finally the topic of elicitor-based preparations is discussed. The experimental part of the thesis concerns the comparison of three systems of protection against fungal diseases applied on grapevine. The Influence of these applications on the fungal disease infection and grape quality is monitored. From the results it is clear, that effectiveness of the three variants has been very similar and none of them was extremely distinctive either positively or negatively. As the most efficient variant was considered to be the EKO one, the author therefore recommends the application of the anti-fungal-disease preparations used in an ecological regime with the elicitor-based preparations included.

This diploma thesis studies the evaluation of wine grape PIWI varieties for the production of red wines. The experiment took place in autumn 2016, specifically in September and October. Nine type of interspecific varieties, were studied and two control varieties were studied. All varieties come from the Mikulov wine-growing subregion from the Lednice village in Moravia. For all varieties, the basic analytical parameters of the qualitative characters were determined. Everything was statistically evaluated and compared. The literary part deals with problems of resistance, propagation, occurrence and description of the three most serious diseases that have just begun to breed these resistant varieties. For this research is a brief look and description of each variety separately, their origins, ampelographic features, suitable habitat and oenological properties.

This thesis focuses on the protection of vine against fungal diseases. Application of alternative means in the form of aqueous extracts from ordinary available plant of their effect on health status Piwi varieties. The theoretical part of this thesis describes the most important fungal diseases of grapes. Further they are described interspecific varieties, which were used for the experiment. Literary part is devoted to the preparation of herbal liquors and extracts of herbs and their active substances in a plant extracts. The experimental part is devoted to the influence of herbal preparations on the health of Piwi varieties. Results were statistical and analytical evaluated. Monitored parameters were comparison with all tested variants.

The Bachelor thesis was made on the Institute of Viticulture and Enology, Faculty of Horticulture, Mendel University in Brno in 2015/2016. This work is focused on PIWI varieties, in the introduction, there is their history in the world and following development of PIWI varieties in the Czech Republic. There is outlined breeding of these varieties and legal procedure for registration of a new variety in the National variety lists. Utilization of PIWI varieties is described in whole group and also divided into certain PIWI varieties. In this work there are basics of bio production, which can be these varieties used for. In the conclusion there are mentioned positives and negatives of PIWI varieties and their further development.

Hodnotenie muštových PIWI odrůd pro výrobu bílých vín

This diploma thesis is addresed to the Evaluation of PIWI variety for making a white wine. The theoretical part describes phenophases of grapevines, the basic quantitative and qualitative parameters. The following part clarifies the characterization of the PIWI and describes the grape breeding in Czech republic and in abroad. The experiment was performed in location of Mendeleum in Lednice na Morave. There were observed seven interspecific and three conventional varieties of grape. In the practise part I evaluate the phenophasis and I analize a quantitative parameters such as sugar content, titrate acids, pH, tartaric acid, malic acid, assimilated nitrogen, total flavanols and antiradical activity. The all results of these analysis are elaborated and evaluated in the charts and graphs.
